Steering parts??= Project X

i need some help on steering for my X...I'm not sure what every small piece is called so bear with me, this is out of my area

Under, and into the pitman arm is, i believe you call it a ball joint attached to the drag link...mine is shot with alot of play...i tried to get this from kragen, autozone , and pepboys no luck...

next i was thinking i could get the drag link from a junkyard....My X is a 91 4x4 and they had one there but it was bent...ok, so they have a 93 and a 94, both are 4x2 with very nice steering racks ...are these the same parts, the draglink, the tie rods, and balljoints???...

ok, if not, can someone help me with where i can get the said parts??? i mainly need the part going into the pitman and i wanted to buy it retail, but if the junkyard parts work i get the whole top rack for 25 bucks, thanks...

Don't ge Junk yard parts like that, it will be all warn and do you know good

What your looking for is the tie rod end for the pitman arm. The ball joint is where the wheel pivots from just behind the caliper.

Check out Napa, they have a very easy site to navigate, and loads of info

I have the stock steering still from mine, but I don't think it will work with your 6" lift. If it will, you can have it.

so the part in the drag link that goes into the pitman is a tie rod end???i do not have to purchase a new drag link as it is an item i can get pressed in, correct???

ok, new question for all you ifs steering buffs...can i just swap in say a 79 ford 150 T style steering in my 91 X??? i have come to find out that for my stock draglink bushing, it can not be swapped but instead i have to buy a new draglink...i have just recently aquired what seems to be a f150 steering setup and it is stout... it looks like i can make it work and i can easily swap out bushings but idk...i figured i would ask before i get halfway thru to find out no, it won't work because of bushing bolt size, its to straight or something..anxiously waiting for good news i hope...
