Tbars Project "X" begins

what do you need for tires?

I've got 3 35x12.50x15 Goodyear MTRs, 20%tread left on baja rims plus one that has never hit the ground. It's mounted on a black steel wheel and has paraded around on my tire carrier.

You need me to bring something to Truckhaven?

Well if your still looking for a spare i still have that 35" bf gooodrich all-terrain sitting here. Or another option u can barrow my 33" mud terrain already mounted on a rim. lemme know you interested in option a or b

...thanks dannyboy and cyber...i'm working on something....dannyboy i am tempted but let me see...also, maybe for backups...;)

I saw also in the truckhaven thread you were asking about tires, i wanted to mention that there are a couple other online places that have 'buy 3 get 1 free' deals besides 4WP. Check out 4wheelonline.com, they have that deal for certain BFGs, Goodyears, and Intercos. Also, tiredepot.com has the lowest price for the goodyear mt/r i have ever seen and just about everyone raves over that tire.

...thanks, i'm shopping now...btw, i hope your drive home was a good one...;)

I am still a little apprehensive about it. Those gears still are whirring like a ****, which gets quite annoying after a while, but after 4 axle teardowns and approaching 2 weeks of this, i am so tired of dealing with it. I dont have the time nor energy to worry about it anymore. Rick said its ok, said it should quiet down once they are worn in, so i am going with his word. I guess we will see after truckhaven.

...you wanted to learn and trying to fit something in there thats bigger than what comes stock takes a little bit...i think you learned way more than you were expecting...knowledge is priceless...;)

Atleast you can tell if your gears are making noises. I put in new gears and my tires are so loud I can't hear anything but them :D.

Yes, i did learn a lot from all of this, and i admit that even after all the trouble, learning from this experience will be very valuable in the future.

The thing is a few months ago i got some all-terrains to replace some mud terrains, and it was a little relieving to have a quieter ride again. Now what i am hearing from the gears is very similar to what i was hearing before with the MTs, just more annoying.

...i may have found a deal on tires from a jeep guy up around johnson valley...keeping fingers crossed...:bounce:

...lol, thanks burns...the guy is going from 35's to 40's so i am hoping to get his mt/r's..waiting on his call back for tomorrow delivery...:D

...he hadn't had the tires to long...his brother just built a full blown rock buggy including rear steer so he aquired a couple 9" axles and said, going up!, lol

...i believe it's a done deal....he will be dropping the tires off at 3 am...i always wanted...:shifty_ey... EXTERRAINS...

3 Am??? talk about a night owl:p: so are you getting the mt/r's or X terrains???

...for a deal you got to do what it takes, especially at the last minute...i still have to find time to get them mounted on the X, as well as fixing the brakelights, get the rear brakes on and 1 brake cylinder, finish welding the last slider, and then painting them since it rained a little...:(

...congrats on the 13k...and i just went over 3k and didn't know it...;)

...the tires are, um, a...(shhhhh)....:shifty_ey... (whispers) (90% tread bfg mt/r's, shhhh)
