Finally the unveiling! Sure looks to be in great shape! Congratulations man :)

Looks good. Congrats on the soon to come project! Looks like a 76 or 77 axle out of a F-150? Are you going to go full width?

Bingo! The golden apple award goes to turboexplorer :D

Yuppers, '76 F-150 D44. Plan is to keep it full width, and go with the superior 88 kit for the rear, using the 5 on 5.5 axles for more width and lug pattern change.

Need to get a set of wheels with 4.5" or so BS for the front w/12.5" tires to suck them inwards a bit, and run a 14.5" wide tire in the back to make it have a close to matching widths front & back. Thats a working theory in my head at least LOL!

Looking into the JD coil buckets for it, using a Yoda PS box, and needing a panhard bar setup still. I have the F-150 trac bar & RA's to use. Trans cross member will be made out square tube most likely.

Lots of stuff to think about still and plan out.

not to rain on your Parade here. But i would run a Fw rear 8.8 from an F-150 to match the front and then run the same tire/wheel combo on all 4 corners so if you pop a tire on the trail then no worries about having the incorrect tire/ wheel or having to carry multiple spares on the Trail.

Just my 2cents

I hear ya there cyber. For local wheeling where I go, I dont mind having 2 dif spares as we leave the spares behind at camp. For any trips away from the area, 4 same size tires would be the way to go. Since I have 6 good 35's now, I'm good there.

Keeping the stock 8.8 means not having to re-gear, or get another locker. It is cheaper to do the super 88 kit then get a FW 8.8 re-gear, & get another locker. The super 88 kit uses axles as strong as a D60, and uses D60 bearings with the c-clip eliminator.

If it were cheaper to do it with a FW 8.8, I would consider it.

Hmm, well if I could find a decent FW 8.8 and swap over the carrier, gears, & locker, it would be a whole lot easier. Would be cheaper too that way as well. I think I know where to get one as well, just don't know the price yet.

Ya, you can't snooze with bryce or he will scrap it. Lots of cool stuff has went to shredder :(
I just have stuff to make rear fw disk brake.

Thanks for the links Steve, I didn't see your edit till just now. I will call the one in Willard as soon as I figure out if they meant 8-10am, or 8-10pm....lol

Brad, yeah, he is quick to send stuff to the scrap yard. He has a load of axles in the truck right now to scrap...lol

I know the brake and axles are still there, because he told me they won't fit the ranger. just my ***** :(

Well, another brake issue happened again. :(

Over this past weekend, it was on it's way to a wheeling meet, and the pedal went to the floor again. WTF?

It was bled twice with the same results...random pedal drop to the floor. It had to stay behind and Pugly took it's place for the meet.

OK...so Three Master cylinder's in a row with the same issue. I am seriously thinking something else is wrong here now. But what? Power booster holds a vacuum, and the ABS work. Could the PB be an issue even if I can't hear any air leaks? Could the ABS still work if there is air in the system? I thought with the ABS disconnected, the brakes work normal anyways.?????

This is driving me goofy to say the least. (sigh)

If power booster was bad your pedal would get hard. Unless you are able to create a ton more vacuum it wouldnt pull it to the floor. Pedal to the floor has to be in Hydraulic curcuit. Probably checked but are all lines in good order you dont have one expanding? If it was it would be more consistent you would think. My bother first gen had a similar issue and it took 4 masters and a questionable rear flex line and then so far six months and no more random pedal drops.

Lines have been replaced with the last M/C. I was wondering about the PB too. It makes sense that the pedal would be hard with a bad PB, since it provides the power for the pedal.

So roll the dice and either get another M/C or go get the ABS bled? UGH.

Appreciate the reply and the feedback

Post the year model and engine and I can get the specific Ford bleed procedure and look for any TSBs. I have access to ALLDATA so I can take a look and see if I find anything.
