The next Truck Haven trip

So my co workers, want to know why there is a Christmas tree staped to the top of my truck?:D

Bill, Should I still bring out the Tiki? Maybe Bryan could take it, and you could pick it up? Or I can just hold on to it till the big run...Just need to know, it's in my back seat. It got alot lighter:thumbsup:

Bill, this is what the Ranger is for. :D

I saw your other thread about the 250, good luck with that.

Yeah!!! Just drive the Ranger! Hell I have mine to drive to work next week too, but I'm still wheeling.:p:

Steve, just keep the tiki for now. I can get it next month?

I have been driving the Ranger this week, it sucks! It took me 4 trips to get a pallet of redi-crete. The F250 could've done it in one trip, and been loaded by forklift.

No problem Bill, it's probally better I don't bring it. God forbid they run out of firewood:eek:

I think I'll sleep in my warm bed tonight. It's 34* there now at 7pm and the low will be 24* with a 18mph wind. With the wind chill that comes to about ...10*

see you popsicles in the morning:p:

Its about 19 here right now. Highest it got today was 22 with a good 20+ mph winds. Tommorow morning it is suppose to be nine. Bishop sure is better then being stuck in LA though.

Yikes, it's cold across all of California.. Currently, it's about 40 and headed down here..

Return....

Got back home around midnight We went out after I got there, and Tom finishing switiching fenders:confused: Found some good stuff, Nothing big happend just a good ,relaxing ...oh yeah and COLD time! Wind was blowing but nut to crazy, just enough to drop the temp 10* or so. Colin got some awsome pictures of everyone. There was no one out there, it was ghost town. We saw a few ATV, and a big group of Jeeps, that it. Didn't do a night run, unless one happend after I left at 9pm. Had a good fire, Davis would be proud;) The trees did not want to burn though, we put one on the fire and what ever overlapped into the wind just sat there.

Overall Good times:thumbsup: Great to see everyone.

This was also the first time I drove my truck more then 15 miles at a time. Drove about 180 miles, wheeled all day, and then drove 180 back. No problems:D  At 9 miles per gal.

Only Picture I got:( But A good one:D

Well, how do I say this???

Just before I hooked up the Explorer to tow it home, I drove it around behind the quad people who camped near us to do a little U-turn. As I was turning and the rear was sliding out a little, I saw a yellow quad with a kid on it out of the corner of my eye coming towards me. I turned sharper so I would not run him over, and slid more, but I thought it was not a big deal until the rear wheels dipped into a hole. The next thing I know is a big loud crash and glass flying, and I my Explorer is on its right side. It landed pretty hard but flat on the right side. Tom winched it back over, but its pretty banged up. Both doors, the front fender, and the rear quarter panel are banged up quite uniformly. The front door window and the right rear window are broken, and the windshield is cracked. The driveline seems okay, but all the fluid pumped out of the transmission when I drove it back to the RV, I think it blew a tranny cooler line somewhere (I hope that all it is). I am now the current Idiot of the Month and the newest member of the ROLL OVER POSSE.

I am taking it to my friend's shop to see how much damage is done to the driveline, if any, and see how much its going to cost to get it in off road shape again. I don't know if I will make the next couple of runs though, which would mean I will miss the Annual Truckhaven event, the first I have ever missed since they started. We will see how long its going to take to get it fixed. I am planning on just getting it in shape to off road, and not worring about it being nice and straight, but that still means; One fender, two doors, some body work, some new glass, and some paint. And whatever is wrong with the transmission.

I will post a picture of the damage soon. No one took a picture when it was on its side because we were trying to get it upright before all the fluids ran out of it, and I was more than a little pissed off. Woke up real sore this morning too, got a *****en seat belt abrasion to my bad left shoulder, a swollen right hand, and a stiff neck. I am trying to stay positive about this, and get it done as soon as possible, but it still sucks. All the money I have been saving up for the SAS is now going to go into getting it drivable again.

Oh, nice picture Steve.........

OMG! Glad to hear your ok Brian. If there is anything I can do to help let me know. I see explorers in the JY all the time so I can pick some parts if need be for ya. It happens, at least it was the Explorer and not something else.

I know Tom had some fenders he was willing to let go for cheap:p:

Wow!! That's some carnage!

Glad to hear you are OK (for the most part)

BTW, depending on the repair cost, I heard somewhere there is a really sweet SAS Explorer for sale. :D

ACK Brian, sorry to hear that :( Yeah I'd be upset too, betcha the little brat on the ATV doesn't have any parents that will help ya foot the bill

Terribly sorry to hear this Brian. Dang ATVs are a menace out there:mad:
