I didn't know Kansas has a tint law. BTW you couldn't pay me enough to live in Crimedot:D They might was well rename it Hazard County as crooked as the are.

You have my condolences for having to be in Crimedot for any reason. The only reason I go there is for the races.

Dont feel bad Just got popped in UTAH. Legal limit is 44%. Mine read 17%. Funny thing is though are Sherrifs cars are tinted darker than mine ever were. i asked about that and the patrol man said its the States vechicle, and they can do what they want. I call BS what makes them "Above the law"

Just like my first car i was driving along and a cop plowed into my car when he had a red light and mine was green, after he hit me he came over to make sure i was allright then back to his car and turned his lights on...... They are above the law so not only did my insurance have to pay for his car, but i got a ticket.

if you have your tinter reciept stating that it was 20 % you should be able to get out of the tint ticket

yeah my friend got a ticket for tinting his driver and passenger windows on his 92 buick roadmaster estate station wagon.

he should get a ticket for driving one, or at least for spending money to tint it.

Here in Illinois it's illegal to have tint on the front windows and you can't have a strip on the windshield longer than a few inches. Also if you get three tickets for tint within a certain time frame the third is considered a felony. I use to have 2.5% all the way around on my B3000 with a windshield strip about 1/3 the way down on an all black truck with no decals and black rims. Never got any tickets for tint. Instead they popped me for my tail lights being tinted with spray tint, but it's ok to have tinted covers.

You don't seem to like our side of the river much :p:
My city came up with a vague tint ordinance-without a device to monitor. It's at the officers discretion. If he says the tint is too dark to see in, and you do have tint, you will pay the ticket.

I don't have to cross the river to get to your place Jon but I do to go to Crimedot. :p: The only thing I miss about Kansas is no safety inspection.

They changed the tint law in MO a couple of years ago but right now my cars don't have aftermarket tint so I don't have to worry for now. I would like to have the Cougar's windos tinted after I get it running. You can guarantee I'll check with the state first what the legal % is before I have them tinted so I don't get taken by a tint shop.

Here in WI, you usually won't get a ticket for tint, just a fix it ticket. So, it's really not that bad. Except our laws here are 50% for front windows:(

Usually though here you can go to 20% and they won't bother you for it.

Here you can only have 50% on the front too, but what most people don't realize when it comes to those meters is your windows come with a certain amount of tint from the factory. Then you go and add 50% film to it and you end up over the limit. I've had several friends poped for it here in OH.

Wow and i thought NE was bad, front windows are 30% here, but ive always had 20% on all my cars and they don't bother you. They will get the guys with 5% and lower and the guys who tint thier windshields... thats just silly

I guess I can't complain about our tint laws. You can go as dark as you want in the back. But the drivers door, pass door and the windshield you can only go 4" down from the top. I have had my doors tinted before and they won't bother you if they can see in. Unless they are looking for a reason to pull you over, i.e. possible drunk driving. When I got my tint ticket it was either remove the tint OR pay a $65 fine. Funning this is I got a tint ticket and they give you 14 days to fix or pay. So on day 13 I paid because I did not have time to remove it. And on the next day I got another tint ticket. I pulled it off right there.
