I love those yellow banded hose barb connectors. Those can hold pressure without clamps, given the proper matched hose. Regards,

Yeah it was a PAIN to get them on. It pretty much requires to cut the hose to take them off.

source for those please?

I don't know the maker, my local Royal Brass and Hose has had them for 10-15 years. The yellow plastic band is a visual check to identify them. They do look like regular barbed fittings, but I think that there is a sharpness or concave curve on the back of the barbs, they dig into the hoses.

I also got them from a local shop here... I think its called Flexfit... ill find out. I'm sure they can mail order. Or I got a couple extra if you need them ;)

That sounds right Alex. They are really nice for transmission cooler lines, they should not leak over time when the hose clamps loosen like with regular lines/hoses. I wish that they made a simple adapter that was a female 3/8" flare on one side with the special barbs on the other.

Yep used them there also. I put clamps on them just for giggles. I have had a tranny line pop off once (not with these connectors, one of the stock ones you see above them)... and it wasn't pretty on the road. I guess im just scared now :)

You mean the ones in the middle?

Yes, I thought that by now they would have something like them. I like the factory line ends, they have just enough of a nipple to keep the hose from slipping off. Those fittings above though could be used to replace the factory nipples. A flared end could be made on the line to allow the adapter to bolt onto it. It can be overkill, but that's where I begin my ideas. Regards,

How about you put that great idea to practice  Want those two? If so send me your addy on a PM.

I'm a pack rat, I do need to sell a few things. Speaking of which, I need to head to FedEx.

Well thank you Alex, I appreciate it. I'll be adding better coolers and bypass filters sooner or later. Regards,
Don W

Well well..... It started!!! Lonnie sent me a tune and I finally flashed it on right now. Needs some adjusting on the tune but thats no big deal. Everything went smooth. NO more lash adjuster noise!!! Yipeee

No more dimming lights. The electrical system seems to be awesome.

I have video... so I will post that up.

All I can say if the water/meth turns off the hot IAT's its going to be generating from the 8.5'' dampener... this thing is going to rip.... While in neutral I nailed the gas to only about 4,000 and the boost needle jumps really fast to about 10psi. I use to have to pretty much slam the gas to around 5,000-5,500 to barely kiss 5psi while in neutral.

All in all im in cloud 9 right now.

Now for the tuning.

Heres a quick pick right before the start. Notice the firewall big loom. I placed all the factory looms inside. Its amazing how much room I have back there now. I can actually get to almost all the vacuum lines on the rear of the intake... If I take off the EGR valve, fuel rail and that rear coil... I have mega room.

Excellent Alex, you should be very proud of all that work. Congrats, now take it easy for a day or two.

Thank you Don.

I'm going over it now to detail stuff here and there... I might take it for a light spin tomorrow... A buddy is going to let me borrow his laptop tomorrow so I can start doing the tune. My lap to a dump right before I came to SD.

Awesome!!!

A+ work and care all the way:thumbsup:

Looks amazing. Truck is clean!

What A pillar pod do you have that fits the 3rd gens?

I started it again last night and it idles really nice.. I think the computer is learning. Lonnie is the man. I just received another tune right now. Call me crazy but it seems to sound way better... it sounds a lot deeper at idle, maybe because its so nicely sealed now. And when I hit the gas its defenetly loader... it sounds more like a race car, response very quick. The extra boost is making the exhaust loader.

It's actually a 2nd gen explorer pod I got from Summit... I added some fiberglass to it to mold it into the 3rd gen pillar.

Heres a quick vid of when I started it, well this is on the third time I started it... its already warmed up here. Sorry for the bad quality its with the $65 digital camera that is also responsible for such bad pictures.

Notice the boost almost or does hit 10psi... while just barely blipping the gas to about 4k. Before I would see about 4psi at the same rpms. The motor is super sealed. My vacuum does not flinch a mm from -12 at idle... it use to fluctuate up and down up and down from like -7 - -10 vacuum.
