that's robbery! !!you could have had one made for.less than that!!i would have just cut the old clean and cleaned up the flange and welded it back toghter

yea i wasnt expecting that.... i need this now for the dyno and for NC coming up, and so im not borrowing my grandpas truck anymore lol
so i got it. thinking about it, i may goto a guy and see what he can do and for how much. same place the dyno is at. clean, weld, paint. if it works, ill return this one or sell it.

question. will it sound differnet if i take the y-pipe off leaving just headers and start it? just make sure no wires or anything is in the way of course..
safe to try it? not in gear, just idle it. i just wanna hear the differnece, if any.

and i ordered a new IAC from rockauto. im hoping that solves some problems

the total came to $220 for it!!! $40 shipping from CA. i dont believe it, its not that heavy. $20 at the most...... im never buying jba again.

anyway....

just took it out around the block and let it idle to keep the battery charged since im not driving it atm.
at ~2.30 you can hear me ***** at someone running the stop sign at the entrance to where i live, almost hitting me. they think no one coming around the corner goes straight and always turns right to leave to the main road. so they 'california stop' the sign and plow into you when you dont turn.

and theres 4 times where an alarm goes off on a car. same car. i laugh every time. they have the same alarm on all their cars, once they had 3 of em lined up on the street and i drove by and made them all chirp until all 3 alarms went off lol

today i did some weight reducing mods.

no, im pulling the carpet to deep clean it.
have a question, found this black, thick wire that was loose. it goes back into the left hatch panel. didnt pull the panel to see where it went after that. but it doesnt look stock. incase it is, what is it?

132_1829.jpg

and im guessing the carpets never been pulled before, as i found this taped to the floor under the passenger seat
and whats that fluffy stuff? its inside plastic bags glued under the carpet. only this one fell out the bag and got glued to the floor
132_1830.jpg

no major profit from this. only got: 12cents, unused rivet, broken glass, a pen, and a crapload of sparkly confetti things that are annoying to clean

since its not very sunny anymore and its gonna rain at some point. im just gonna leave it there until after work tomorrow. so the rain can wash off the rest of the cleaner i mayve missed and then the sun can dry it all day tomorrow.

im debating on getting carpet dye and dyeing it black before putting it back in, cuase if i dont now, id have to clean it again when i goto do that lol

i used regular simple green and a spray nozzle on a garden hose.

no pictures atm. to dark. but the carpet is back in. it looks sooooooo much better now. big difference.
ran my compressor and air valve wires in the stock tunnels for wires while i could.

put my new IAC in also. wont know how it does until after the exhaust is fixed tho. again, no pics atm

also, that loose thick black wire i found under my seat that led into the hatch trim. i pulled the trim and the wire ran up to the roof near a big square hole(looked stock) and wasnt connected to anything.
makes me wonder what it used to be used for

what's with all these trips to the atm??hahahah jk ;) i would have sound proofed everything before putting it back together!

The wire was probably used for a cel phone antenna, back in the 90's when they were in-car cel phones before the portable phone market exploded. They used to have those little antennas you'd have to run a wire to and stick on the inside and outside of a window to get reception. Either that or some other kind of antenna. The other end should give you an idea what it was.

The fluffy stuff inside plastic bags is insulation/sound deadener. It's just a cheap way of taking care of vibration points or holes/gaps that might let in road noise. The Sports have them in the rear side panels in front of the rear tires, maybe the 4 doors have them under the carpet in a certain place, or yours just had a stray bag get under there during production.

The production sheet is a present from Ford left for whoever pulls up the carpet later to find. You should laminate it or frame it, it has good info about when it was produced.

You probably don't want carpet dye. Unless it's really, really good stuff, and you let it dry a looooong time, it will get all over everything, and come off on whatever comes in contact with it, especially on wet/humid days. New black aftermarket carpet is ~$100.

that makes perfect sense! there was a car phone shoved under the passenger seat in a carry case when i got it!
theres 4 tiny holes in a 3"x3" square in my tranny hump access panel cover also, wonder if that had anything to do with the phone.

as far as the ford paper, its ok for the most part, but its got water damage and it tore a piece off when i picked it up, its very brittle.
seemed to hold up ok for 20 years 7 months under some nasty carpet lol

dyeing the carpet, yea its making me worry about that. ill add the link to the dye later

edit: i wonder if the fluff bag is for heat. cause theres a thin one right by the hvac tube for the rear vent. and the other is a large one on the passenger side, right where the cat is.

carpet back in, seats almost back in. wired my compressor and air valve back up. air vavle doesnt seem to be working, unless the tank pressure isnt enough. dont wanna run the compressor to long since im not running the truck ATM(! :p)
the only stains left is a white dot on the passenger side and where the bolts for the front seats were, and the rubber foot mat is still dirty

got a new IAC. hopefully that fixes some problems. got a new motorcraft o2 sensor coming tomorrow also
132_1951.jpg

jd, since you have a air/fuel gauge maybe you can answer. you have a a wdeband o2 correct? is that needed to give the gauge info? and it doesnt work 100% with the computer tho right? mainly during WOT?
if yes, would it be possible to tap a new o2 bung in there and run a narrowband for the engines computer and a wideband only giving a signal to a gauge?
if no, then nvm

yea i have a wide band.it will not work with the stock computer at all.just for my gauge and megasquirt when i switch over.

PS as of today im AUSSIE locked!!!! ;)

not at all as in it runs in default loop 100% of the time? unless you somehow saved the sensor data it learned from before? or does it do it at certain throttle percentages?
so i would keep mine and drill a hole for a wideband also then. right next to it, or space it out more?
im just asking for future reference. i want gauges later on for things..

yay! i was first tho! :p
so still 4x2 tho?

as far as i know it won't work at all.it sends a totally diff signal.you can use one of the holes that are already there.wideband can measure one bank/side/ cylinder.you have to buy a wideband O2and gauge though. they arnt cheap at all, think i paid a couple hundred for mine.
the AUSSIE was tight the final was. 014 under spec and side was. 004 under but the pin went in just fine and the spin test works fine.i think it will be fine as everything is brand new in my rear so some wear is going to happen and it should fall in spec.i also put in a trans temp gauge and drain plug.waiting for the rtv to dry and ill fill and test drive tomorrow ;)

ps one of the springs flew out into a rose bush and took me 4 hours to find!!!! :( :(
