Pssst, Jon, Jake's a V6 guy, LOL.

Jt - you'll have one.

Cuss every man needs a Y?

Theres alot of bung hole location problems in here. LOL! I would personally located it after the y-pipe. That way you get both banks monitored. -jh

I believe that ideally it needs to be as close to the engine as possible, too far back delays the signal from real time.

OK hold up guys--
there are a few things not known--
suffice it to say I have a dual in single out muffler now--I'll install the bung behind the muff for now

I am going to have new header flanges, 2.5" high flow cats, dual 2.5" into a single 3" Y-Pipe, then 3" in out with a silencer in the near future- I'll probably have James retune for it--at that time the bung will go in the y-pipe
Believe this, Jakee knows what he is talking about when he mentions Y pipe--
I'll let him let the cat out of the bag--

I think my x-calII shipped today--

Save yourself a headache and make sure you don't have any burned out fuses. I found the XCAL will not work with a burned out cigarette lighter fuse.

So very true my man. Because the power used in the data link connector is shared with the cig/12 accessory port. Good info.-jh

SCT xcalII has arrived!
As soon as it cools down a bit-hopefully next week or so, I am going in the top end of my engine-
I'm going to check the valvetrain out-and powdercoat my intake manifold-
I need to clean up the wiring and vacuum lines-finish building my intake tube and change the throttle bracket to full pull-
Then, the tuning will begin--
I'd like to start a new thread for James and I to use as discussion, so people can see exactly what to expect from the whole process. I'd like to post before and after data-along with Hp estimates-
I think it will be neat!!

Very good, I'm watching. I am very impressed with these OBDII PCM's, and I haven't gotten to work with them yet. I have been around dozens of pre 96 Mustangs that ran like crap, and that was the way they were "supposed to run." Jon you are way past what most of those Mustangs had in them, and you have the most minor driveability issues, and no tuning.
