Trying to get it right-

Is this guy slow or what?

Ok, I have had other priorities-
The fuel lines and fittings arrived yesterday-just as Bryan got home from visiting his grandparents (my parents) in KC. We had a nice evening and shut the house down early as he had to leave at 3:00 Am for drills-he'll be back Sunday night.
I was in the garage this morning fitting lines and putting the fittings together, when my friend came by and insisted we go to the strip. I am supposed to video his turbo nitrous Hyabusa. The last time he ran it it wouldn't hook up, and he only ran in the 9's, so he wants to see what is going on, and if the adjustments he made have helped. I know this thing should be at least in the low 8's. He's had it to over 230 mph according to GPS

I think I need a bit of motivation, so if I can talk Sheri into it-we are going.

ha ha--phsych-:D

Here are the lines I have made-and a picture of the supply and return connection. Look at the stack of fittings. Oh, and don't you just dig the purple?--lol

I could have put the y behind the upper manifold -but it is already tight back there-so there will be 2 supply lines going over the brake booster. The return will go back under the upper manifold and join the supply lines, so It is a bit longer. This will hide them well also-

Boy, my fingertips hurt-I don't care how well you tape stainless braided hose-when you cut it it's going to poke ya.
I still need to tighten the fittings real good,I'll put them in a vise lined with wood shims I guess since I don't have all the fancy AN fitting tools-

Very nice, how did those fitting become black? I like that, the bright flashy reds and blues don't thrill me. BTW, what's the black on the stainless line, next to the fitting? Is that liquid electrical tape?

Ha ha--it's electrical tape-
I find it easiest to tape where you want to cut, and cut just into the tape, using an air powered cut off wheel The tape slipped a bit when I threaded the "nut" on. Oh well, I aint going back in after it.
The black fittings are summit brand-they offer stainless and blue- red also. The aeromotive fittings which came with the rail kit were also black-

And the fittings scratch very easy. It almost seems they MAKE them easy to scratch. I haven't even put a wrench to them and one is knicked-
The 90's on the supply ends are old and way scratched-but you'll never see them tucked under the upper intake at the rear of the rails. I was going to powdercoat them but didn't think they's hold up to blasting very well.

back in a bit-

Well, there was 1 small leak at the y fitting-guess I got a bit tired and didn't have it as tight as it felt-
Here is the routing I have selected
I hope it gets the board's approval

Yes I have clear shipping tape over the intake runners

That looks fine, now fix the cruise control. Those red topped sensors were the most likely to fail according to the TSB's. Regards,

Umm, I suspect if I go in for the recall they will kinda try to get out of it.

I don't know if I will be able to get the cruise control cable in the linkage anyway-If I am not successful I'd like to plug the sensor hole.

I see, you are waiting on the TB set up, I think that you will get it right eventually.

I have the upper intake and spacer back on, egr solenoid-dpfe bracket mounted and hooked up,egr valve and tube installed, vacuum lines re connected, and that's about it.

Well, you have my approval. After all this is done, take it up to the car wash and degrease the engine bay.

Looks good.

Hey Jon what did you end up doing for your throttle cable bracket situation?

Hey Jon what did you end up doing for your throttle cable bracket situation?
Yeah that thing-
I've been working on a bracket from round stock-it may just work out.

With round stock?

Ok-it is a solid piece of bar stock-

I think this may work-I'm going to pretty up my welds (ok, globs) a bit and get a picture--

I need to sell you my non foot pedal TIG welder, you might do enough welding to be able to learn how to use it. LOL,

I might want to work a deal--

OK
Here is what I did.
In an attempt to keep the cruise control, and also to keep it as simple as possible.
I chose to use the part of the factory bracket which had the holes for the cables to click into-

I had this hunk of round bar-which I heated red hot on the end and pounded flat-then I drilled a hole in it and bent it to the proper angle-
The hole mounts it to the throttle body. There is a 2.5" bolt in that location, by using washers as shims I can get some front to back adjustment.
the hole in the bracket is eccentric, giving side to side adjustment-

the pull angle can be adjusted by bending--
I then sliced off the section of factory bracket-and cut a slice 1/4" into the round stock. This allowed me to slide the section of bracet in. I cut off the excess, grinded and welded and grinded and welded and grinded again,
voila!
Once it is powdercoated it will look alright I guess--

I changed the angle, and bent the throttle body arm backwards-,
This should give me full throttle travel now--

any delfection when you depress the throttle?
Looks weakish thus far

Everything else finished looks amazing!
Drool

That's a novel idea, mount the OEM bracket where you need it. Hopefully it will be where you want it, and stay there.

I think it will be rigid enough-
I have it baking now-it will be chrome because that is what my gun is filled with and I'm getting hungry-
I just noticed something-
The fuel Y fitting I ordered -said Magna Flow on it, but the one I got says Magna Fuel

Not that it matters-just kinda weird-
