Just thought I would let everyone know (especially if you have sent me a PM in the last week why I have not responded. I was in a serious wreck Sunday night about 20:50 hours and well... the pics speak for themselves. I will have to say I basically walked from the wreck with minor head and chest injuries, otherwise I am blessed to still be here.

I had a vibration I couldn't find for the last year, I have rebuilt everything in the rear. Bushings, bearing, seal, etc. to no answer. Sunday night I found what it was- the right rear axle apparantly was cracked and it finally completely broke. I was driving straight up a hill and the vehicle took a hard left for no reason. Totaling the truck and my tournament inboard ski boat.

Everyone if you have rear end vibrations please pull your axles and have them magnafluxed. This was my next step but I never made it to it. Jake, especially you if you are going to do any dragstrip launches on slicks. The vibration would come and go and wasn't ever consistant.

James, that is HORRIBLE news. What is important is that you are OK. Trucks can be rebuilt.

Hang in there bro.

Brad

Terrible thing to see:( I'm sure glad you're ok! Sorry about the Ex and your boat... That has to be quite a blow.

...This hasn't been a good month for member's vehicles...:(

It's been a bad summer for sure. What is starting to give me a complex is the three forum members I've had tons of contact with this summer (Eric, Jon and now James) have all had bad luck.

I hope I'm not bad luck. :(

Pic of intercooler-overlook the dirt and so on. Everything in the back got thrown out of the truck. We scraped it up and chunked it in the back of the truck

Ouch!!! Sorry to see that James. Thankfully you walked away ok.

Now..go build the next one faster and stronger!!:)

Man, I'm in shock to see this one....

James - I'm glad you're okay.

So sorry to here about your truck and boat. Glad to here your ok though, thats all that matters at the end of the day.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your vehicle and boat. I'm so thankful that you survived! At least you can't blame yourself for hot rodding and losing control. I've read some posts on this forum by members that have very high performance vehicles but have not matured enough to respect the dangers to themselves and others when driving recklessly on public roads. Drag strips and racetracks are the place to go fast. For my Sport, the only time it goes fast is when it's on the Dyno.

I hope that you recover quickly!

sorry to here about your loss....i hope you are doing well, no major bruises i hope...that sucks about your boat though...is insurance going to give you anything for the both?

Wow wow, sorry to hear this.

For anyone else with high HP/torque, maybe a full floater axle setup would be safer in the long run

Sorry to hear that James. Glad you are safe though, that is the most important part.

This hits a little close to home since I had a bent passenger axle shaft when I purchased my truck and didn't realise it until a few years later. Scary to see what the outcome could have been.

Damn, this was my favorite street rig.. Sorry to hear about it James. :(

Wow, whats going on here lately? You haven't been through KS lately have you?

Glad you made it out, and was healthy enough to take pics of your own wreck. Did the trailer come un-attached during the wreck? Did it stop you from rolling?
