We are all pulling for you! TGIF

how about everyone push for me.
tried changing a few things that didnt work in the tune. i am going to recheck on how i timed everything (after all, i did that when i got home from work close to midnight using flashlights and tired, what could possibly go wrong there). will check wiring as well (you would have to see the harness, they are dedicated to the locations and have a heat shield on them for crank, cam and O2 sensors). i also want to a some length to the coil harness on the even plug. its real tight and one good snap of the motor might pull it out. will have to get to all of that tomorrow.

timing is very important so the Holley can recognize when cyl 1 is coming around
Start at TDC compression stroke CYL 1 then follow the simple chart posted

Both the cam and crank signal wires are purple going into and out of the ignition harness. Simple continuity test can tell if they are in the appropriate spots at the pcm

well.....its the first week in october. winter could be a day, a week, or a month away. who knows.
guess what mr. dumbass is now doing.

pulling the harness. its thanksgiving this weekend, and i have taken tuesday off in hopes i can rip all of this out, check it over FIND the problem, and put it back in. if you are wondering whats with all the wire, its so i can pull the harness out, and it will act as a way to pull it back in so i dont have to take everything apart.

work smarter not harder!! good show
I feel for you! she will run!!!

the good

complete harness is out. had to cut 3 wires, but thats life i guess. i was amazed as well because it took maybe 45 mins to pull it out and have the stringers follow. i even managed to get the coil drivers down and out from behind the blower.

this was also a brilliant and stupid idea. needed a way to keep the injector harness from falling down into the trans tunnel. solution, us a p clip on the bolt that comes threw the firewall for the heater box or heater core

the stupid part, trying to get at it when the blower is on the motor. try even getting to it with the stock manifold on and i bet its no fun. also for the record, that freaking thing is a 11mm. glad a have a few junk wrenches kicking around.

once i got it all out i started checking. at first i wasnt going to check the harness that goes to the injectors, but i figured its easy to pull so.....

the first culprit. the black wire pretty much fell out, the yellow needed a little help. so i am happy that i have found one thing thats keeping it from running, but now i have to find terminals and i dont know the part number.....
looks like i'm eating crow this thanksgiving weekend.

Why not disassemble the connector and solder the wires to the terminals inside it

because im good, but im not that good lol. i did luck out and found some of the pins that i need in my little gave yard of holley electrical parts so i was able to do the three that was needed (yes, i found another one). right now i am looking over how i did my coil drivers, and i am not convinced how i wired it (i did a stupid and cut one side of the connectors off...). not sure if i want to try fixing it right this moment or not, eyes are getting buggy

Our Thanksgiving is over a month away so, you have more time. All in how you look at it.

you amuricans are funny with your holidays falling on the wrong days and all. i also look at it as if i see snow on the ground im out of time, and mother nature hates me.
oh, and there was snow on the ground a few mornings ago 20mins south of me, thats don's part of the world.

:snicker:
Dang. It got down to about 45 here this am, couldn't find my parka. I almost died.

its that here right now and i am in the shed with a sweater on sorting threw my harness  roflmao!

jamie i have a question. pin a on the grey coil driver, that is ground to body, and is d not used? trying to figure it out and i cant find a picture of these things.

let me go look!!

Its almost 80 during the day here but low 40's at night. Been having a fire in the mornings. I love the fall and I am hoping for tons of snow,.....but I am like that and have a heated shop
I have a whole package of the holley pins if needed.
Are these your crimps that are coming apart? You need to check every one before it goes back in!
It does not help that the Holley crimp tool is like $300!!!!!!

here is from the instructions for the Holley 554-112 coil drivers, found on their website

so far i am getting by for pins. just had to look around at spare everything i have here, and its scattered everywhere.
yup, was the crimps that where not holding. i was using a pair of crappy crimpers, then dono lent me his, problem solved. (sorry for keeping them for the last 3 months btw lol)
needed to know where what was on the connector. didnt want to wire it upside down.

so i believe i have gone as far as i can with the harness. i found (and how long its been like that, who knows) one coil driver wiring completely messed up. not one cylinder on bank 2 as i call it was right.
i looked at my iat sensor wiring as well as the map and couldnt find anything that looked bad. im going to put it back in and hope for the best.
if i have time tomorrow i will start putting it back in. dont think i will finish it but who knows how far it will get.

I'm looking forward to the news

dang Donalds beat me to it!!
HAHAHAHA
This would explain things wouldn't it!!
She will run say it with me now

Uh oh...

Tim, I'm sorry but the white flag GIF made me laugh out loud... This is a really big modification you are doing and clearly takes a tremendous amount of patience.. As aggravating as this is for you, you will get it going 1 way or another. You've been through too much together to throw in the towel.
