I have a question. Just throwing this out here but with the 9" having 3 pinion bearings and with your being tilted so much how is the bearing closest to the drive shaft gonna get anything or is that even a problem?

any problems with the tank install? check engine lights or anything? I want to move mine here soon, but I have smog laws to deal with here:(

No problems yet. Like I posted above, go back in the thread to see how I did the tank. I used the original pump, so as far as the truck knows there isn't anything different.

I know the angle looks a little steep, but thats the only way I could get it to avoid driveshaft bind. A stubler and a short wheelbase didn't leave me much choice. This thing is never gonna drive down the highway, so I'm not too worried about excessive heat and wear. Also, there is a heck of a lot of fluid in there. Nearly 2 gallons I think so I think there will be enough fluid splashing around to get to the front most bearing.

Yeah i know i have a ton of fluid in my 9"....I forgot about the stubler being in there....

El quicko questionooo:

I know you had that blinged out aluminum tank custom made, but did you and the fabricator discuss pressurization or anything?
I ask cauz I .. may need one or make one, sometime, in the future. Oh and also a price figure would be good :D

Okay will do! This isnt concrete yet, just some ideas that could be a possibility this year, if not the next.

IZ, if you need a fuel cell let me know.

He's Alive!

IZ, I got my tank from these guys. I seem to remember seeing something somewhere about what they pressure test them to. Give um a call, they were really helpful.

Is your rig wheelable? I got an itch for wheelin!

I planned to go tomorrow, but my outer axle shafts didn't come in. I oredered from a guy on pirate who drop shipped the outers and u-joints. turns out he or alloy usa did my zip code wrong and they weren't delivered to the right place. I shoulda done drivetrainoutlet.com. They had free shipping and they even come assembled. Oh well... Maybe next weekend....

no, i need to do alot of work to the fron axle to prevent a few problems

Kinda unrelated, but I'm going to be buying an 80's F350 with a Dana 60 this afternoon. Not sure if It'll get parted out, or I'll keep the axle for myself, but the deal was too good to pass up.

Pics to come :D

Ahahaha! :D

Got my sweet new ride today. 1986 F350, 6.9 Diesel and a sweet fisher plow and flatbed. This things runs strong. I almost feel bad parting it out. I think its gonna get used for plowing this winter and then see how I feel this spring. I now have a set of front and rear 60s though... :D:D
