Here is pic of my new Altezza tail lights
The sun went down before I got the pic taken of my Altezza's. I'll try to get a day shot tomorrow.

I took a pic of the stock tail lights but they are all too large of file for the site and I can't for the life of me figure out how to resize it

Looking good, Dan. But dude--you just gotta let me hit that finish with a polisher. I can pull out those buff marks/swirls in a heartbeat.

The sad thing is it was self inflicted. I got lazy this summer and used a buff pad in cordless drill to wax it.

Now I just need to get rid of the white reflector strips.

I don't know if that can be done or not. I kind of doubt it.

I'm not sure either, mine were like techie's

Seems to me that if it's clear plastic, with diamond reflectors molded into it you could paint the back like an RC body.

How concerned are you with keeping the lettering? You could always spray nightshade on the whole thing if your not.

I think the backing is white. I'm not concerned with the lettering at all.

I've always hated the reflector strip on the rear hacth on Mountaineers. A Mercury is supposed to be more refined but instead looks chepened.

I also have plans for the hideous reflctors in the bumper as well.

How is it held on? The one on mine was just on with double stick tape. If that's the case, you should just be able to take it off and clean off the tape goo.

For those reflectors in the bumper, I think I would add some auxiliary back up lights. It'd be fun to combat tail-gaters. LOL

i would just remove it. I highly doubt its held on by bolts being that its the same hatch used in the explorer..don't think Ford have actually taken the time to make holes to put bolts or clips
and about the bumper...personally i would remove the reflectors..get dual exhaust made and have them exit there. Then get some nice rectangular tips and maybe have the rest of the area welded up

That's a cool idea!
