Hey this thing might just run again real soon!!!!

Now for the question Does anyone make Chrome valve covers for the 4.0??

...i thought the 4.0 was going in the ranger??? summitracing.com might be a place to look for the valve covers....:D

no chrome covers avail for the 4.0L
Ford made them for the 2.9L for a while, but those are long gone and would not fit the 4.0L as far as I could see

IT is we have 2 4.0's and a 3.0 (which is for sale)

Small parts wareshouse here LOL mostly muscle car and some big block stuff

...i guess you'll have to send the valve covers off to be chromed...i couldn't find anything and i'm sure 410fortune would have known if they were to be had...

...you must be selling lot's of flags to pay for all the new parts...:D

...btw, it's really hard to find your flag thread and i didn't see you on the vendor's list or at the bottom of the forums page...;)

So is this going to be ready for T-Haven in Feb? :D

Not sure if it will be done for Feb run. Major set back today. It seems that Calmini(bad bad people!!!!!) suddenly does not have the axles in stock anymore:eek:

We were told that they might have by end of the year. So we are exploring other options.

Someone tell my back to hurry up and get well this might start getting real expensive!

WHAT commit sacrilege?????????? and put a chevy engine in the poor little thing???? NO NO NO Besides that chevy engine would be more like a boat anchor in the nose of the Zuk.

did you try Rocky Road for the axles? When I built my Zuk, I got the majority of my stuff from them after Calmini caused me problems....

Put some Wrangler axles under it, like tdavis did. Wider is better. ;)

Tom used toy axles. Can't wait to see the progress on this.

Oh yeah, you're right.

But Wrangler axles would be cheap and easy to find.

well its looking more like having a 9" ford rearend out of a F-250 and shortening one side. (Parts on hand!) And he better not touch my FJ40's axles!!!!! lol

Na you don't want to shorten the 250 axle, then you'll have to have a custom axle shaft for that side, which will be $$ and a pain if it ever does break. The jeep Idea is not bad though:scratch: I'm tring to remember what side the d-shaft is on, but if's it's right a D30 from a heep and a 8.8 from a ranger even would probally be fine. It's good enough for a ranger on 33's probally not to brake anything, and with the wait of the zuk, you'd be good.

There used to be Chrome VC for the 4.0, Kris has them on his Navajo.

Looking forward to this project coming together. :D

Wrangler is driver drop. Cjs and older waggys had passenger side drops. Old waggys also had an off set rear diff as well.
