@DemonMudder I'm a thousand years late to this conversation as always, but IIRC when I replaced my transmission cooler lines, I used around 6-7 quarts of Mercon V (factory transmission cooler).

Personally I use exclusively Valvoline synthetic in both of my Explorers. It's not cheap, but only dummies pay for a good car and maintain it with poor materials.

It shouldnt be hard just drill deburr nut washer nutw/ NPT I think itll work! Tell ya what Ill google it an see what I find

As far as fluids Ive used Valv, Castrol, M1, really whatever IMO all the modern syn fluids are pretty similar maybe theres a small differnece, I have no clue
 


















Not finding too much on this subject, but what have yall done for bigger side mirrors? Maybe not necessarily tow mirrors, not against that, but the oem mirrors are just so small, and now I'm just used to having tow mirrors. Rather not use the slide on ones just cause I don't want those on ALL the time. Saw that with some redrilling and body cutting some like 04 and later f150 ones do fit, but they sit funky, least on the sport trac like I saw. So maybe something slightly larger, like a c1500 mirror like I used to have or something? Probably mess around with some junkyard ones to experiment, but want to hear some others.

Nevermind, he used the 06-11 ones, which were a smidge bigger and more square which I don't mind! I'll have to nab a junkyard set one of these weeks, also have to grab a set of obs chevy mirrors to compare and maybe try too, I kinda like those if I could make them work.

Actually, I was planning to run an SCT X4 tune thingy, which means I can't run that. Or do ya suggest that scangauge instead? Maybe I could tap into the obdII port and make a second one! Lmao

Ohhh, the sct doesn't have to stay in, that makes sense! Both it is, yay my bank account continues to hurt lmao
 






Alright, progress, think i got all the necessary front end drive stuff off, 95% of the top is all apart and unplugged/disconnected, getting real close! Hate how long this is taking, I'm not too great at this yet apparently. So many bolts...but a couple upgrades as I'm going, new compressor is in for reassemble! Didn't realize how long the lil' plastic tube piece was on the power steering reservoir, busted that, so i guess I'm replacing it, may do the other two as well, wiper fluid and coolant.
Next I think I'm going to get the headers unbolted, spark plugs labeled/unplugged, and see where I can go from there.

Can never be easy or go to plan lmao

I can officially say, after way too long, the engine i think is ready to come out! All of the electrical looks to be unhooked, except the main harness attached to the back of the block that I can't get to very well, but least they're disconnected. All that should be left is figuring out how to get a wrench in the top tranny bolts, jacking it up a lil' and then ripping it on out!

Nice! I'm calling it now, though - gonna encounter one other wacky small annoyance before she's out. Don't know what it's going to be, but it will introduce itself soon!
