do you know if these mirrors will work for my 2004 ford explorer eddie bauer? I have heated mirrors and was wondering if that will affect it.

I can't say for sure if they will fit the '04. I know that you will lose the heated mirror when installing this kit.

If the mirror glass is the same shape and size, and the mount looks like this, then the kit I got will work:

Hope this helps out. :)

Have you got a link?

I have a Gen 3 with GEN 4 mirrors. Is this still applicable? Also all your images don't work saying you have reached your bandwidth limit which kinda sucks because I was going to print it out >.<

Sorry about the photos not showing. I have taken care of that and all my photos should be showing on all my posts and threads.

The shape of the 4th gen mirror is different and therefore this kit will not work with the 4th gen mirrors.

The link that goes to Hillbank shows the kit you need to purchase. They list it as fitting the rangers, but they are an exact fit for the 3rd Gen Explorers!!

I stand corrected!! It appears that Hillbank no longer carries the signal mirrors.

That stinks. :fart:

I bought signals from IJDMTOY.com however when using heat gun and trying to get glass out gently it broke on the rightside corner. so I gave up just ordered a new heated glass and ordered built in signal ones from Muth

I tried to read through the whole thing but I was too eager to see the finished product. I was wondering do the puddle lights still work?

Sure, the puddle lamp has a different circuit.
In my case, I run wires directly from each front turn light and the mirror works like a charm. Is easy to run the wires trough the fender and then trough the rubber thing that cover the pack of wires that goes to each door.
In my experience is an easy DIY job.
Hope it helps.

Has anyone found a way to create a mod something like seen below on a 2008-2010 STA, but keep the factory mirror housing and all functions.

In my mind, I'm thinking it could be a fairly straight forward, the hard part would be wiring and adapting that mirror housing to look like factory. If I could find a flexible led part that can attach to the mirror housing, maybe off another car / suv / truck, drill a small hole in the housing and attach the led strip to the housing, securely, while being 100% water proof. Then follow the same path of the other wiring, out to the right and left signal relay, it should work, without dimming all signals, since it would be very low amperage being used? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Or do they make a replacement part that looks the same, personally I would prefer the outside of the housing to have turn signals, not within the mirror itself.
