Just got keyed

Well I worked on it today. Used some rubbing and polishing compounds and that scratch remover stuff, and the light clear coat scratches are almost invisible. A little more work and I can get them to totally disappear. The deep scratch is a little bit better, but it still looks like crap. Obviously a little compound and whatnot is not going to solve the problem, but hopefully I can make it look respectable. The scratch remover stuff actually works pretty well, seems to have made it less deep and more smooth.

Jason,

Don't be afraid to take a tooth pick and run paint into the scratch. You can apply multiple "coats" until the white disappears and it's level with the surrounding paint. Then, run a clay bar over the area either while it's wet or slightly tacky to ensure it's level. This will accomplish the same as the Langka kit I linked.

It's definitely fixable, and with a little patience, it'll be barely if at all noticeable.

Pictures of how it looks now?:D

I'll get some up tomorrow or the next day. I just got in from working on it more. In the dim light, it appears the clear coat scratches are pretty much gone. The large one obviously needs a ton more work, but it's slightly better than it was, at least in my mind. I'll be getting back out there when I have time for more work and some progress pictures.

Adam,

Thanks for the advice, keep it coming brotha. I'll see if I can snag a little jar of touch-up paint when I have some time. I have some at home, but none out here. A little bit each day and hopefully I can get this to look respectable. Thanks again.

Man, that totally sucks.

A friend of mine's got a flawless Mazda Speed 3 that got keyed in similar fashion (long and fairly deep, though just one scratch). He contacted car dealerships around town and one give him the number to a detailer they use to fix cars on their lot. He called the guy and arranged to meet him at a dealership nearby. The guy charged him $40 and repaired it while he waited. When he was done, you couldn't tell the car had ever been scratched.

No fair, I called that already! :p: The chicks, excuse me, the LADIES on EF though are way too cool for that, though! :D

Oh no they're not... I keyed the **** out of an ex's Celica when I was in my teens

I would never do something like that now, though ;)

Alright, here's some pics from today. Made some good progress.

Front door - can barely see the light scratch anymore, it's pretty much gone:

Rear door - same, light scratch nearly completely gone:
