Any Input , Or Advice , Should I Go For IT ?

Whats the price? Sure its the whole trans not just tq

Hes Wants 1000 , He Stated It Was The Torque Converter not the trans , He Said It Would Move Under its own Power , But The TC was Needing Replaced So I Can't Say For Positive its Only The TC or The Actual Trans !, Thanks JD4242

To Froader , I Think Its Worth 1000 In Parts , But I Have A Working Trans And TC From My Navajo SO If anything I Could Use Mine And Get Bigger Tires For it and Flip It ! ?

If it doesnt move at all its usually not the tq.$1000 is not bad but your looking at about that for a trans so.

He Said It Was Slow on Take Off , Also Sluggish Off The Line

Not a bad idea. Not sure how much you'd get though even running correctly with bigger tires, though.

$1000 and you have the parts to get it going, think of it as a throw away vehicle. Beat on it until it won't go anymore. :D

i know he seems sure of the tc, but maybe if he doesnt really know what the problem is, maybe youll get lucky and its just low on fluid. i know my grandpas trucks tranny seemed dead and would barely move when it got low every week(leak)

perhaps it just needs geared for the tires, mine got sluggish when i put bigger tires on it

For $1,000 lifted both suspension and body, I think it's worth a grand.

As for the TQ..... If the engine runs smooth it doesn't have the issue my old 86 Blazer did. I would brake TQ bolts off in the TQ and it would not move an inch. I had it for a while, took longer to find actual TQ bolts for it than it did the Jasper rebuilt motor I had put in it.

I still cannot tell you what is exactly wrong with my old Blazer, it's still in my family with another engine waiting to be put in it. But the engine vibrates extremely hard up until 25-30 MPH's then it's fine.

I had made the mistake of trying to sell it to someone on payments, they were running drugs in it and done about $900 in damage by the time I took it back, and yes, they broke the TQ bolts off too. Busted the windshield, lift gate, and many other things.

That is the only experience I have with bad TQ's. Just thought I would share.

what brand lift is it? rought country 4" is olny like 450 brand new but the james duff is closer to 2g i think. so it might be worth it just for the lift.

He Knows Hardly Anything About The Truck , He Said The Motor And Trans Were Original With 143K miles , Said Motor Was Strong And Never Problems , He Has Also Started to take it Apart to Replace The TC , But I Don't Know If He Knows How To Properly Remove the Trans And TC at the same time so no Damage is Done To TC Or Bushing On Bell Housing , I Have To Get Up The Rest Of The Money For The Project so I Need to go look at it And Make Sure i Want it Before I Show Up and Its Not What I Think

I wouldn't do it. But I'm a cheap ass. These things are going so cheap in California. You can buy a running Ex for $500-700 range here that's without rust too.

You need to assume the tranny is junk.

Yeah Im Just Assuming The Trans Is Almost Junk already , He's Been trying To Sell it For A Few Months , I Told Him I Would Get Back In Touch , Went To The U pull it Yard and Grabbed Some 33-12.50-15 Super Swamper TSL Tires With Some Tread On Stock Heep 15X7 Steel rims Spray Bombed Black Both For $30 !!!

That is a sweet deal, talking about the tires and rims :D

Let us know if you get this explorer. I'm currently trying to get another one which may end up as a parts explorer but could turn into a project explorer if I can catch this car salesman at his own business. His son is always there and I cannot catch him there, have been trying for around five months :(

Yeah I got lucky at the yard , there were a 4 wheels and tires but two were flat , so i left them , maybe go back and get them , if there not gone yet lol
