Does any one know where good, cheap internet access is available in Moab? I may need to check on a few things..

There's internet cafes but they aren't cheap. I tried using the library once but they won't let you unless you are a resident of Moab. Canyonlands Campground actually has some hardline phone receptacles up front on the back wall of the gas station (where the laundromat is) for people to plug their laptops into, but I don't know how they work or what they may cost.

Next idea would be "borrowing" some time in someone's hotel room maybe?

Figures. I just thought of WiFi hotspots, so I'll do a search for them.

I just realized, my cell phone has GSM/GPRS, so I'll have to play with setting that up and getting it to work..

hmm.. From http://www.wififreespot.com/ut.html

Moab
Eddie Mc Stiff's Restaurant - 57 S Main St. - (435) 259-2337
Mondo Cafe - signal probably comes from Eddie McStiff's - 59 S Main St # 6 - (435) 259-5551

Guess I'll be visiting there! :bounce:

I am pretty sure that the Silver Sage has in-room data ports. I will probably be using that as we are staying there...

Well, yesterday I finished the other side of the front suspension upgrade. Put in the spring, F250 shock tower, RS 9000 and swaybar discos. Today I have to run out and get my slider tubes, and a few other parts - it's raining on and off - likely be an office day -or a shop cleaning day at best (I have no garage!). Hoping the body lift, CB radio, and the front end headight trim comes in today so I can get going on those items next. Also have to relocate the brake lines (they are currently the limit straps for the front and rear suspension!), and have to build a couple of bumpers. Lots to do before my test run on Sunday...

OH man you are trying to squeeze in a body lift too? hahaha WOW!
and I thought I was bad!

I have been meaning to do the F-250 shock towers for about a year now, stop you are making me look bad! hahahaha

tic . . toc . . tic . . toc

(that's either the clock quickly ticking down to Moab, or my control arms flexing)

I'm still prepping too..... my last trip I think I really slammed hard while doing the Cliffhanger obstacle and my body flexed so much that it spread my upper doorframes outward from my body.... I've been living with severe windnoise all year and when it rains it comes right through the top of the door; I've needed a raincoat inside of my vehicle, lol.

Here's my redneck bodywork fix. It works, now my door fits the body again. :bounce:

Yeehah ~ no more windnoise - now we don't have to shout in the Explorer... and no getting wet anymore when it rains :D

hahaha at the local car wash too! Oh man thats too much...

Once you start messing with the door alignment/hinges. striker, shape whatever you will never stop....trust me.
My 88 BII has had wind noise for as lon g as I can remember, all new seals, extra seals, whatever, just the nature of the beast I think....

410 -- Come on man... both sides in two days. I gained almost 10" of flex with that mod alone. Break out the torch and grinders.

Got the body lift finally. Hope to install it tonight yet.

Also got the CB - DOA from eBay. Sent a semi-nasty email. See what happens before I leave some powerful feedback. Now I have to scramble that way also.

Oh well, part of the fun, I guess... Let's see, buy a truck, build it in one week, wheel it 3000 + miles round trip, plus bring it awn with the trails... Foolish or just out to have a good time? Time will tell! :)

CB- $25 at Radio Shack, works perfectly for your needs..

I haven't done the shock mounts because my welder (his name is Brett) is back in Colorado. :)

Whew, just finished up my semester with a control systems final and a preliminary race car design review. Now it is time to get busy! I wanted to get my new sliders done but that is not going to happen. I have a hi-flow cat converter ready to bolt on to replace the old worn out stock one. Need to do a little minor engine work then I will be ready.

Nice body work Gerald :smoke:

Cool, I'll be able to save some money! :) I paid 2.17 today at the cheapest no-name station.

Sorry to hear that. I wanted to see your truck. What happened?

It was only $1.95 for mid-grade in Bountiful, Utah where I went wheeling yesterday, at Cheveron! Maybe I'll go and fill up a bunch of gas tanks and take them with me to Moab :afro: .

I simply cannot afford it right now. I especially cannot afford to break anything. And I know I'd try hard
