ok.. so I've been offered a complete 78 F150 front end for $150... with brakes n stuff... from what I understand, I can use this instead of the bronco one... right?
or can I at least use this one to complete my other one?

Si

I'm not sure which Bronco front end you were planning to use but just keep in mind that the F150 axle is full width. I don't know any of the dimensions or specifics but I do know that they are considerably wider than the Explorer's rear axle.

I'm probably going to stick with my 78 Bronco front end, and get a 96 F150 8.8 for the rear, my intentions are to make the axles full width, to help with stability and offset the lift...

Also, my BDS stuff arrived the other day.. :D

I'm going to speak with the local fab shop tomorrow to talk about cost implications etc...

I still need:-
Gears
Truss
Currie rotors
James Duff brackets
Brake lines
nuts n bolts

Just spoke to the local fab shop, 2 mins south of town, a crazy dutchman... $100 an axle to install gears... just gotta save up n get them... :(

That's a good price:thumbsup:

I emailed him a link to your build so he can see what I'm trying to achieve, he said he can extend my radius arms for me too.. and help me with what ever else I need doing..

i'm hopefully picking up a 96 FW F150 8.8 this weekend, so that's one less thing on the list... anyhoo... I've found a company in town that does powdercoating!! so... now I've gotta decide what colour I want to do my axles.. arms.. etc... any suggestions??

:D:D:D:D:D

well, you're no fun!! so.. what colour should I do the diff cover then??? haha... I could just use POR15 then for the arms and axles... and get things like the dust covers/diffcovers etc done..

I'll still be using that lovely riddler you did for me on the rear

Go show them that and see if they can do another like it-:D

They make a dana 44 cover.

I think if the front axle was black and you had a emerald green diffy cover it would look good also.

Now, if you want to be different, if the coil springs, radius arms and diff cover were bright copper that might look good with the green.

coils are black... and... due to warranty, can't be changed... (BDS stuff)

Do you happen to have a swatch to that copper colour?? ;)

I know I may be jumping in randomly, but a Lime green setup is always a nifty color choice. One color i hope to be able to use someday in the near future :) But of course that is just my personal favorite random color. lol
