Hey guys so I just got myself a '99 Explorer XLS 4x4 a couple weeks ago. Has the 4.0 V6 w/ 167k miles and thing runs like it's new. I'm the third owner. The first owner had it lifted with shackles and torsions cranked with the street tires that are on it now... , 2nd owner took shackles out and lowered front, and now it's mine.
Have some plans for it. Lift and tires are definitely at the top of the list along with some other little things. So without further or do, pics!
Pics from the day I got it:
Then I got too antsy with the lift and couldn't wait, so I cranked the torsions a bit. Not too much, but gave me about 3" of lift. It's not cranked all the way, and the angle on cvs is still good, can go higher too.
Then, my "awesome" buddies got me to say yes to go out to the woods with them Friday night, and this happened... lol
I'm very pleased with how good she did that night. Yes it's on street tires and pretty much no lift, but only got stuck once (in that pic above). Other than that, 4-hi/low got me right out.
Anyways thanks for lookin, stay tuned! Plenty more to come
