Bummer dude! :( Looks like it saved your life though. That thing held up well, but it's probably a loss. :(

Yeah the word to use for sure is WOW.

Im glad your ok and everyone else is too.

I would say its gonna be a total.

frame is bent,, wow , too bad,, hope you get another one just like it,, keep the stuff off it that made it special to you though, whells tires, stereo, and such,, or make the insurance company pay for them,,

hard to believe it bent that bad , and the back windows didn't pop,,

yeah its a total.. Frame damage that bad will do it.

Good to hear you both are ok. I was wondering what a Grand Am looks like with a Ford Emblem burried into the deck lid looks like or from 60 MPH does she have a back seat that says Ford on it?

Glad you came out ok, but with it being an 00 and the frame being that crumpled, I'd bet it's a write off...

After the Firestone media storm, people came to the opinion that Explorers weren't safe. I've seen enough of them keep their occupants safe in fairly bad accidents....They are a good, safe vehicle.

Those pics are a testimony to Ford Engineering. Great job guys, and glad you're safe! :(

dang that sux man and glad u and ur sis r ok from that impact

good to hear your both okay, trucks can be replaced

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought that the back would look squashed like a soda can that somebody stepped on. I'm surprised that overall it didn't look as bad as I thought it would. Body shops have frame straightening equipment. Did you get an estimate on the total damage? The frame got bent, but it didn't tear or get mangled up.

It's Totalled.

Between the Body damage, and the crumple zone in the frame crushed there is NO WAY anyone will be able to put that back onto a public road for less money than than it's worth.

Ditto... From an insurance standpoint, I'd bet it's a goner.

Glad you came out OK though. Still a very safe vehicle despite the media hubbub.

I'm glad to hear your injuries were relatively minor. Was the other driver just not paying attention when this happend? When I'm on the highway and traffic comes to an abrupt stop I am always afraid someone behind me isn't paying attention and will rear end me.. As such after coming to a stop I will keep taping the brake pedal so the driver's behind me can pick up the rapid flashing and realized they need to pay attention..
