I discovered what the white lines are when I checked it on my Aviator. Those are the Active Guidelines that are used with the Park Assist feature.
I asked if you had Active Park Assist but I'm guessing that you don't. Have you checked the setting for the camera to see if the Active lines can be turned OFF? According to the Manual you may have; Selectable settings for this feature are ACTIVE + FIXED, FIXED and OFF.
I have a feeling that they appeared due to your FORScan changes. As I mentioned before, the other camera number is for the 2011 -2012 Explorers. Yours is a 2013, regardless of the date it was made. You can also go to the site I linked, put in the other number and then check it with your VIN to see if it is compatible.
In any case, I'm not sure why you would want to get rid of them as they are an additional aid that can come in handy. If you really don't want them, try reversing what you did in FORScan to see if they disappear.

Peter
I do not have that feature and it had the lines before I used Forscan. My old camera didn't have the moving line either. Iv checked the setting as well and there is no option for them.

Why not just leave the Active Lines there? Could be useful since it shows the vehicle's path.
I'm quite sure that the lines are controlled by the programming of the camera or associated module and not the camera itself. There have been several posts where members with the Active Park Assist were missing the active lines until the camera was programmed to the vehicle.

Peter
The white lines are stuck to the left and do not move they just stay in one spot.

Did you notice if the white lines were there when you first installed the camera and before you used FORScan? If the other stationary lines and the 3 coloured zones were there before programming the FORScan probably wasn't required. I doubt that a Master Reset or disconnecting the negative battery cable would help. I'm out of ideas. Perhaps someone else could help.

Yup had the white line before Forscan

Did you get this resolved?

I have the same issue. My camera was displaying reversed image. Got a new camera, looks okay except the white lines curving to the left. I don't have a OBD adapter with a USB port so I haven't gone down the Forscan road yet. From what I've seen so far, it has to be done with a PC, right? No phone or tablet?

If you are talking about using Forscan to program the camera in order to get the "Active" lines, then yes, I believe you will require a laptop but those 'in the know' should be able to confirm that. The dealer techs use a laptop with IDS to do it.

Sorry. I wasn't very clear. I never had the active lines before. I need to remove the curved white lines and get the black "ladder" line back in the middle.

Tried 3 different Chinese cameras (~$80). Every one had white, active guidelines and a missing dashed, centerline. Went to the local dealership, paid $425 for a "Ford" camera and it worked perfectly. The image is also far superior to the images from the Chinese cameras.

I believe the cameras must have been upgraded sometime around 2013-14. The picture quality of the one I had in my 2014 MKT was more HD-like than the one in my 2011.

2012 Explorer XLT

Backup camera would intermittently stop working....Getting the black screen with message, "Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership". The intermittent phase lasted about 2 months. Then it would not work at all. After lots of reading up on this matter, the consensus was it was either a blown fuse or the camera itself needed replacement. The fuse was good. So I replaced the camera and it worked perfectly...in fact, the camera I installed had a far better quality picture than the OEM.

It worked flawlessly for about 2 months, then intermittently the backup video got very blurry. It did that for a few weeks then the screen went black again with the above noted error message. So if this issue isn't the fuse and isn't the camera, what's else could it be? Continuity issue with the backup camera wire harness? There are no other electrical issues with this vehicle. Thank you!

^^Welcome to the Forum.
Your thread was merged with this one.
If the camera works intermittently then the fuse isn't the problem. If the fuse was bad, you'd have nothing at all. I believe the cameras were upgraded sometime before 2014 as the picture quality in my 2014 MKT was almost HD compared to my 2011 Limited.
Have a look at posts 609 and 610. Perhaps that might help.

What I believe you meant to say was that the image is upside down. ;)
I'm guessing this is the original camera and that you didn't just replace it. Sounds like a software issue or possibly the camera is beginning to fail if it is original. Some members familiar with FORRScan may be able to help.

Did you buy it from a Ford dealer? Did you get any kind of warranty with it? In my opinion, that issue should have been fixed before the vehicle was sold. Before doing anything, I'd go back to the selling dealer and mention the issue and ask that it be fixed.
When a camera is replaced, it has to be programmed to the vehicle. A dealer does that using their IDS software tool. It can also be done, I believe, by owners using a similar tool called FORScan.
I sent you a PM yesterday.

Hi
Have a 2013 Xlt explorer. Backup camera doesn’t display on screen. I get a message saying camera unavailable contact dealer. I know it’s out of warranty and decided to trouble shoot on my own before going down that road. So I checked all fuses and wiring with a test light and ohm meter all tested good. So I replaced the camera thinking it must of just gone out because of its age. Well the new camera doesn’t display either so I tried a friends camera from his explorer that does work and that one dose not display as well. I am kinda at stand still trying to figure this out. Would the apim have anything to do with the camera? The only other issue I have with the system is the navigation doesn’t work and was told I need a new navigation card A12 since I still have the A4 card.

When a camera is replaced, it has to be programmed to the vehicle in which it was installed. The dealer can do it with their IDS software tool and I believe it can also be done using FORScan. That message you received usually does indicate the camera is faulty. Its age is also a consideration.
Did you replace it with a Ford OEM camera? Part number?

That seems to be the correct one. Now you have to get it programmed to see if it works properly.
