Nice, what did you give for it if you don't mind me asking? I'm going to do the same to mine.

60 dollars brand new via ebay

Not bad at all. I've got a friend that has one that i may borrow, but it would also be cool to have my own

I'm interested to hear how cutting goes -- i heard its hard work pushing that thing around the tire but I want to do that this summer.

Sweet. You will love them grooved. Its the best thing you can do to a TSL or SX.

im thinking this:

or this:

I got my SXs used and they were cut just like the second image.

What size blades did you get with the groover? One of my boggers has 3 or 4 grooves in it, but i guess the guy got tired and quit.

The second pic is about the best way to do it.

it comes with #4's

Had some fun with my new tool today. Took me about 1/2 hour to do this one tire. its my spare so I figured I test it out on this one instead of one of my new Tsls. before I did the groove pattern I grooved out all the wear bars, as this tire was free and is very worn down.

1 down 4 more to go.

How hard is it to push through? I know this is an old tire, but i bought one too and i need to start on mine.

There was a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the angle of the blade right it goes pretty well. my problem was in the beginning I didnt lift the end of the groover up enough so the blade was cutting like this / instead of like this |, but once I figured out that was the problem it cut alot better (when looking at the groover you will understand my blade angle mombojumbo). I did that whole Tire on 1 blade, so when I go to do the others we will see how long the blades last.

Humm, i didn't realize the blades would probably wear out that fast, i'll have to get some more.

The blade I used is still good, Im going to keep using it, I have 12 that came with the groover. I was just commenting on when I do the others, I wonder how many tires 1 blade will last.

That's what i got from your posts, like you were kind of suprised it lasted that tire. I don't think mine came with any :(

If you're asking redranger he won't know for at least another 2 years... :p:

It all depends on how it's set up. It can be better or worse.
