Redranger4.0, solid axle swap d44/9"

If you're asking redranger he won't know for at least another 2 years... :p:

It all depends on how it's set up. It can be better or worse.

How is yours Froader?;)

Maybe it's the pic but are you gonna have tire rubbing issues? Otherwise it's looking good:thumbsup:

i agree move the link in like 1 to 1-1/2 inches...

cant, im dealing with width issues on the axle. The other side only allows me so much room, and im keeping it the same on both sides. The cast center only allows me to move the link in 5" from the C. If it rubs oh well it will only at full lock, and ill just limit the steering.

you could kink the link...but if you dont want to then a little buzz when pulling into a parking spot is fine right?

Nah dont want to bend the links, that takes away from their strength. Plus I have no way of bending 2" .25 wall DOM. And the truck is strictly a trail rig, with its only road time being to and from trails.

It wont rub that bad. You wont be at full turn the most of the time anyways.

So the Waggy diff on the drivers side is forcing you to push the links outboard of the frame?

I have just enough room on my EB housing (drivers side) to weld on some link tabs to keep the links inline with the frame.

yea the center section is offset differently then the EB, because it is made to have leafs

Would it be possible to mount the link further inside the frame on a cross member. Not sure if you can achieve the angle with the joint you have on the axle end, or it might require a more angled mount on the axle end. I didn't think it was much of an issue just giving a possible solution. Only time I could see it being more of an issue is if you go to larger tires. But as we all know we are generally satisfied with our tire size after the first build ;)

I thought about it, but its more work then is really needed when I have a Fullwidth D60 all ready for when I move up in tire size. So for now Ill just adjust the steering stops to keep rubbing if any to a minimum.

progress is slow but progress none the less. I would like to have gotten more done on the truck but I just got back from a two week London/Ireland Trip, so I have had zero amounts of time to work on it. I did have a couple hours to do some stuff before I left though.

I converted my welder to mig, I was tired of the flux core. And all I can say is what difference. Its so much nicer with the gas setup.

Tacked the passenger link in, ran out of time to setup the driverside arm.

My rear bumper is done and welded.

The Bad news is that there most likely will not be any more updates to next year. Im moving to Vermont till December for a Internship. Im also Going to SEMA in November in Vegas, so between the two I will not have any time to get home to CT to work on it. The good news is that Im working at a Machine shop operating a CNC Machining Center. LSP-VT.com is the company Im working for. After I learn all the machines Ill have free access to all of them. They also have a Mig/tig/arc setups and a Plasma capable of 3/4" cuts. So who knows I may try and make some stuff up while im there.

Not much of an Update, well really no physical update at all. Its gotten pretty cold and we have about 1.5-2 feet of snow here so cant really work on it. Just been doing some sketches for a cage and bed in my free time.

this is for an inner cage

and this is one of the bed designs

This is the other design

I like the first bed design better, both for looks and utility. I think with the spares standing up like that will have to be set so far forward that you'll lose storage space.

yea thats what Im leaning towards for those reasons. I could setup a drawer system under the spare tire.

I ended up getting a KILLER deal on a set of new Fox 2.0 14" travel remote Resi Coilovers. So I went with them instead of the FOA's. Ill be picking them and my coils for them up this coming week.
