The coolant tubes on the RH side of the engine, how the heck? LOL
I searched but maybe phrased it wrong. I am thinking about taking it off and redoing it to fit better in my Volvo. (engine swap)
Puts the hoses too close to the firewall.
Anyway I looked in my FSM and found nothing.

Tips? And do not disturb is a valid tip! :)

This picture might help. Beware the smaller lines halfway up the tubes ( not seen in this picture) circulate coolant through the upper plennum--

yes, the threaded part spins. I think I have a cut wrench for this, to allow a pipe for a wrench extension. You will need to eat your wheaties for this, it's on there good. Note the red lock tight sealer stuff.

I think I might get by w/o removing it after all. But nice to know if I need to.
It seems that the pipes might be spot or tack welded together as I cut the tab between the two and they stayed together? Anyway like I said I may be o.k. w/o pulling it. Good info for the next guy!

Hello everyone, I have an issue with those tubes; I have a leak in the rear part. I'm trying to remove it, but I still can't. What type of wrench do I need to unscrew the part where the sensor goes? Does anyone know how to bypass the tube? Is it really necessary to have it? I would really appreciate any info given! videos and pictures are welcome too!

Found some pics for that part F77Z-9D424-BA
Maybe the question where it is leaking, thread or o-rings?

Do not know the wrench size, but the fitting should spin around.
If the fitting is intend to came off or "pressed" on???

I have never takes that fitting off the pipe
Always unthread it from the intake as a whole unit
I believe it is 1” nut, maybe 15/16”. I have a wrench I cut in half which allows me to access this fitting even with the engine all together in the truck

Spray some pb Blaster in the gap between the fitting and the o rings to hopefully help lube those two o rings

On my bronco I simply cut the metal
Tubes right after the coolant temp sensor and ran regular heater hoses from there

Hello everyone, thanks for sharing the info!

I have managed to remove it witouth unscrew the 1ich, y just use two spanners and make up torque. It just came up, thanks god no part damaged, i could take the 1inch nut, it was not possbly with an spanner.

Those tube had to may leaks, do i managed to bypassthem, by just cut them, separate the ends and put a hose with clamps. That's it.

I was really having a bad time with the coolant leaks, but well, it tourns out well.

Note: here in venezuela, we don't use the heater system.

You can cut the tube right after the coolant temp sensor
Then create a simple flare
And hide clamps
The other wise can go directly from water pump to heater core just like the older 302

The only thing you need to keep is the water temp sensor.
The rest of it can be removed
You do not need the small coolant hoses to the intake, those are for extreme cold temperature environments

I went out to my bronco and tried to get you some pictures

I put a 97 explorer 302 into the truck in 2005
When I did I cut the factory metal heater manifold and ran regular heater hoses from there
I made a simple flare and ran hose clamps
Been holding 20 years

Hard to get pics in that area

So I have a lower intake and heater manifold here in shop

Cut here, add small simple flare, hose and clamp

Everything left can be recycled

Wow! Great info, mate. I've read that method somewhere else, but I wasn't sure about doing it.

Well, maybe next time (I hope it doesn't need it). I always like to maintain the stock configuration as much as possible.

I really appreciate your help! Let's see if those tubes last longer. 😎
