awsome, bring some along. I have the breather neck just not the tube.
I had the same thing happen to the rear during the new years run -- the rear shackle was smashed up against a rock and my friend said the leaf spring looked very ugly.
BTW how did you shear the D44 pinion? Was it just from raw [unadulterated] torque?
I ask cauz I'm kind of surprised that the axle shafts or hubs didnt give before the pinion.
Im guessing it sheared as the axle was pushed, and articulated at a funny angle. Thats why people mount there shackles in the rear and not the front, to avoid this.
As far as a anti-wrap design, i have no idea.
A bracket from the spring plate ..... umm.... ?make a braket that bolts to the ubolt spring plate to the shackle
Geez Curtis, are you alright? Did you get any pics![]()
well, I flopped it, caught on fire while flopped, sheared my pinion, broke some glass and found out I have a design flaw. The axle since its shackle foreward likes to get puched back when it goes against something and the shackles reverses and puts the leaf in really abd shape.
Does anyone have a good idea for an anti wrap bar type link that will prevent the axle from wrapping as well as keeping it from pushing back?
I still think I've got you beat for f*ckups for the weekend, buddy![]()
Preach it sista!
Oh, so you know what the two of us did to our trucks already...?
Jay has the pics of Micah's engine smoking, I just have still shots of HOW it got to the point of catching on fire. And how he managed to break his pinion:
