Josh, looks like it is closed completely until further notice. They have a website they say they will be updating: www.loscoyotes.info

If I do end up going i'll be in 2wd mode, I don't think i'll be able to get the front regeared in time

renovation?! I thought it was fine the way it was :(

Truckhaven is sounding enticing, although there are several offroad races that weekend

so the 16-17th. damn i hope my schedual get moved around. right now im pickin up shift on the weekends. GRRRRRRRR. i wanna go bad. stupid new job. oh well, i guess i will cross my fingers and see what happens. although i need to keep working in order to do more to my X. PA body lift, new rims, tires, and gears i think are in the near future. i think it may end up as a show truck more than offroad. hmmmmm. what to do what to do.

I'll give you a hint. . . If I say "this looks fun", don't follow me. :D

Or If he says it looks too soft up there and does not want to try it. :D

truckhaven is the perfect place to go to learn what your explorer can do. just dont follow the same lines as DB 1 on the night runs and you will be ok  :D

C'mon Matt, you know it was fun  Especially since it wasn't your truck :p
Christobal65, like Matt said it's a great place to learn. Ground clearance isn't an issue for the most part at T-haven. It's mostly hill climbs, off camber stuff and washes, so don't think you're getting into some hardcore rockcrawling. Unlike most places where there are designated trails, T-haven is just a vast open and hilly area where you can make your own trail.

i might be interested in joining all of u. especially if this place is good for stockers. do you have a confirmed date yet?

It looks like October 16th and 17th are scheduled. Jefe and I will probably drive out there Friday night after work.

Could someone possibally post a map for those of us who have no clue where we are going;)

Hey Stic-o

Was that you on the 405 today? I was heading North just crossing the 10 about 4:00 & saw a white X with the Explorer4x4.com sticker on the rear window. The plate holder said "Right tire Wrong tire" on it???

I was in the red 95 with PRECIOSA on the back window (my wifes X)

Cool truck anyway...

I'm still getting everything sorted out on my X, but if it all comes together, I'd like to join you guys out there. This will be my first run as I'm pretty new here. Do you camp or stay at a motel out there?

It's next to the Salton Sea. I almost went there last weekend on my way to Joshua Tree, but I haven't actually been there yet.

Here are some instructions I got off the web: Take I-10 south to 86S (Salton Sea Expressway). Take 86S approximately 35 miles south to Salton City. Turn right on North Marina Drive and go straight for ~1 mile to camp.

;) Yeap that was me! I work down the street there, and was going to the valley. Actually I saw a white first Gen with with 31's and a big ass bumper too around there. But the kick ass truck was the the beige Land Crusier on 35's. That truck was badass.

Thanks by the way, she ain't done yet. :D

Well i'm gonna look at my schedule and see what i can do. I see there are stockers going so i can hang with them.
Haha i've resurfaced from the dead. :D

Wow Brian, I haven't seen or heard from you for a while. If I can make it I will. Truck Haven is one of my favorite places to wheel. By the way, for the people who knew my truck, it is no longer 4WD. I saw it last week and the guy took the t-case, diff. and axles out and it looks like a piece of **** now. Non matching wheels and missing fenders. Made me sad.

Holy crap. . .I haven't seen either of you in a while now. I'd be great to have you guys out there.

Here's a link to the Yearly T-haven run info: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57167
Its got maps and 'local' hotels.

We always camp, and it is primitive camping. Theres a general store w/ gas, superburger, and a park w/ toilets a few miles down the road, but thats about it.

Well, looks like we will have quite a 2wd contingent so I guess I could lead that group, and any 4wd stockers that feel like joining.
So who's camping or was this going to be a day run? If enough people camp out then i'll join in.

I'm really 4wd ;) Thats atleast what i keep telling myself

I'm really 4wd too...i just can't use it :frustrate

Hey Colin do you have a rig now or are you in the same boat as Matt?

If anyone is going to T-haven via I-10, you can meet up with me on the way if you want to truck-a-van the rest of the way. I'll give details as we get closer to the run and if anyone is interested.
