Not to hijack it, but depending on how mine turns out (taking a while due to funds), I'll think about making more and selling them to people at cost on the boards.

Carry on Ryan! lol

Sweet

..You guys are funny...

Ryan

Like, "this this milk tastes funny". Funny?

Don't EVEN ack like you don't want one.. :D

I see IZwack is looking at this thread now... He knows he wants a flux capacitor to. That way he can go into the future, see what the economy is like, and know what he has to do differently as President.

Mail came today Ryan, the kind post-man left a note saying to pick it up at the postal center.

I appreciate it and will let you know how it goes. I got my refund check so I'm redoing my brakes and HOPEFULLY adding rear disc this weekend.

thanks again

I got 2 of the 3 side dash mounts installed on the A-pillar today.

Here is one that I got welded in, smoothed out and painted.

That is the driver side (obviously), The cut is in the middle of the verticle rectangle, which is what I used to line up (register) the mount in the PERFECT position. It took a LOT of cutting to get that side to fit right.

I got the other side welded in, but ran out of time to smooth it out, and paint it.

Nice work, take your time and keep at it.

BTW, those long door seals are still available for about $35, I've replaced most of my eight seals. They help a lot with their age and after finishing the project.

I pulled all the door seals out of the 97. They were in WAY better shape than the ones in my `92 now. I sandwiched the new piece on top of the pinch-weld, so I re-installed the door seal to check how it looked after the paint dried.

I counted 6 seals though. 4 doors, 1 rear hatch, 1 rear glass.

Ryan

Yes I figured that you had already planned to use the 97 seals. I did that with my 99/93, but all of the door seals shrunk while being out for so long. I had replaced my two hatch/glass seals when I rebuilt my 93 in 1998. The door seals you will notice more damage and air leaks from, that's why I've been doing those for my two trucks. Ford will be obsoleting a lot of parts in the next couple of years for the pre 2002 Explorers.

The Filter adapter arrived, and mounted right up. PERFECT!

From the adapter, I am going to use -10 AN hose to the Filter Mount.

I have a single Filter, and a Dual Filter Cast Aluminum mount. But I need to install the motor first, before I find a spot to mount it.

I did however make more progress on the INTERIOR of the Explorer.

And in the 2nd picture, you can see why it's NOT POSSIBLE to use 1st Gen Door Panels with a 2nd Gen Dash. That picture was taken with the door about 2" from closing. You can see where the dash is hitting the door panels.

I thought that also Ryan, when I was debating using my original door panels. I let the wiring make the choice for me. My 98 panels are tight against the dash and they are made with the indentation to match it.
That looks good, BTW which windshield did you use? The mirror mount is different from 95-01, press on versus a set screw before 1995.

The Windshield and frame is untouched, and stock from 1992.

The contour of the dash is perfect.

Ryan

Sweet!

Great work, and if you want the high end mirror then find the 93/94 Limited version. The wiring is the same for all years, so if the body harness has the wires, the "A" pillar harness will plug right in. I used my 93 mirror and it plugged into the 99 wiring.
