9" long chunk of 5/8" hose, pipe 3 ( heater crossover pipe) to water pump

Unless you need the smaller water pump bypass elbow hose.

thanks jon, but i think the first one is at the back side of the pipes, and the first one is the one that goes to the thermostat housing. i tried to put a regular straight house on it, but it kinked.

Nope. They have the pipe 3 to bypass valve, heater core to pipe 3, and bypass valve to heater core hoses listed separately. Those are pre formed.
second one is thermostat bypass ( elbow) hose. For the first one I listed, I know I used regular 5.8 hose for pump to crossover (pipe 3) tube. You will need good quality hose for that though, something hard that will not kink. Oh, and it has to be the right length to work good. just a tad too long may kink, too short won't reach -(duh)

for what its worth, the bypass from the pump to the housing is the same for a late 80's early 90's f150 with a 302. i called the local dealer and i believe i have the part number, its a motocraft kh581 (ford number F67Z18472DA). now the dandy part is there is only one showing in canada (and its in quebec which is nowhere near me). rock auto show them only if you type the part number in, but not if you go under year make and module)

Try to find Ford hoses, they are a little better.
I don't have the Ford part numbers, but the Ford hoses were shaped better than some other brands. I bought another set from Rock Auto and still had three of the four OEM hoses unused to compare to. The hoses are generally available, but the Ford hoses may be obsolete now. I mentioned this to Willzilla before he finished his electric WP install. He was having leaking issues and getting the air out, I think he got that done.

I missed a whole page here when I posted that. I'll find the bag of hoses I have and see if that one is there(with the Ford tag on it).
That's it, it's a short molded hose, maybe 6" end to end length. F67Z18472DA
It's crazy that searching for it turns up $25 as the cheapest price, plus shipping.

rock auto has them i think don. will have to call them just to make sure however.
did a data log, the temp got as high as 190 if i remember correctly, then dove back down to around 186 and pretty much stayed there.
the other good news is, i found where the smoke was coming from. the bad news, its the evaporator box or if you like, the heater box, and it melted a hole in the bottom of it. now i get to change that this weekend.....yay

Hows the Garage situation Tim?
Your welcome to mine anytime. If it doesn't get done in one day, I have a vehicle for you. Just thinking if the weather's crappy it might be a friendlier place to do the job.

I've always had half an eye on that heat box with it being so close to the headers.. I wrapped mine in aluminum tape to try to help with heat deflection. Is that that you think melted yours?

well, last week the power steering pump took a crap. i had a spare and put it on. then evil found a new way to piss me off, and that was by tossing the power steering pump pulley off, not once but twice (the last one ended with me not finding it either and i also had a spare one thankfully). but not before it chewed up about $150 in belts......
with that being said, i found my balls, and headed to the drag track with it today. first run i thought i was in 4x4 until i had a guy tell me i was smoking the rear tires. so with the second run i made sure it was in by tapping the gas in reverse to see if the rear tires would spin.
this was the first pass in 4x4 (181)

the mph sucked because it was hitting od around the 1000 ft mark. so after a smart idea my cousin had (tethering his phone with wifi to my laptop) i had don make a few changed and tried again, but i think i didnt turn od off on that run. so i did another and this the result

that run it did it again, but i got off the throttle and smacked it just before the line. this was also my best 60 foot. i had noticed (or made sure) the od light was on (locking it out) but i watched it as i went down the track and saw it turn off.
this is what made my jaw drop
before launch

i wish that damn fence wasnt there. i would almost swear it was hanging the tires!!!!
don also did 2 other tunes pushing the timing up more at wot for me, but i didnt have the guts to try them (and i was the one that asked him to do it to lol). i really do think if we (well, don i cant tune for crap) figures out the shifting problem, that it will knock off 2 to 3 more tenths. he found 3 tens as it was from last year when i went. all in all, i am pretty happy at this point.
