Tbars Project "X" begins

Hey tbars, did you ever do anything with those upper shock mounts in the front? those tabs make me nervous. at the least, you should have your welder put some spines down the top of them.....

...i got them fixed before pismo...as they sit now they are fine...i'm just getting some more needed things done first...i've had the truck 3 1/2 months now and i felt like i needed to get something done to it since i haven't done anything major to it in about a month or so...:D

gotcha. still got the 250? i bought my wife a blazer, so now she can't ***** at me, and i start regular work next week. which will suck....

...i need to sell that f250 so i can pay for new tires...otherwise i'm going to truckhaven with the tires i got...

crap. i'm not gonna start getting paid there for like three weeks. right AFTER truckhaven.

...and for those who missed today's projects.... :D

...heres some pics of my new front recovery points and my new flowmaster 40...:D

...ok, so i got busy today and got a couple things done...:D
...and here's a pic of the test fit...about 3/4" below the sheet metal...i hope this is low enough for the flex...
...and that is gear oil on the florr from mounty71's truck...:D

Try E-6013. Also, more juice (if possible), go slower, anndd clean it up (oil, paint, etc..) :D . If doing vertical, go slower, bottom-up. If you use any of those right-angle magnets to hold the pieces, tack and get rid of them - the magnetic field influences the weld deposit.

Those tow hooks were a great addition to your truck! And those sliders are looking good too. I'm looking forward to seeing that other thing you are working on. ;)

...well we have the night shift getting ready to start ....the projects i started yesterday afternoon should be mostly complete tonight...

...mounty71, the other thing might get started this weekend....potter just asked me as he wants to see what it looks like too...:D

alright thanks! :D

...r.j....thanks to izwack or myself???

...neither, a little higher...it will have some trail dings and dents but hoping it will due...;)

Probaly making his safari rack

Nice looking project you got going on here.

I wanted to point something out...mainly because it was my first big problem when I lifted my first explorer.

If these are trailmaster lift brackets (which they appear to be since I see the bolt on the bottom, you need to check clearance into your diff. On mine I didn't know any better and the firs time I flexed it a hole about the size of a quarter punctured the top of my 3rd member.

I guess you are supposed to run a big bumpstop, but in my case your uptravel would have been no more than an inch or two, I junked mine and put the skyjacker brackets on it.

Just wanted you to check that out. If the prior owner didn't wheel it he may have never had that problem or I could be totally wrong and you don't even have a troubled bracket.
