and they usally nail the person in front of the pack.

LOL, out here that would be too much work. They'll usually nab the guy in back!

Howdy,
I'm new to the Explore scene, but this all sounds like a hellof a time. Not sure if I could ever hang with yall since I'm only rolling in a 2wd, but hey I could hopefully make a few of yall laugh. I voted for Austin since that is where the in-laws are and it seems yall are planning this during dove season. I could hopefully get a few birds. Hopefully I'll be able to meet up with yall and at least sit on the hill and watch yall run the coarse.

Probably be hanging right there with ya' Armadilla. Even though I will have the 4x4 conversion done, my tires won't handle much, if anything at all.

Armadillo, C'mon down!!! We're trying to get it where 2wd and 4wd's both have an area to run. The more that can make it the better, meeting fellow EF fellers and bsing is on the agenda also.

Dan, hang in there, tires will get ya there!!!

Ya I miss toughs days. Maybe one day I can get my BFG All Terrains back.

Dallas!

I think Dallas is going to get out voted :)

yea and by the looks of things. most of us dallas guys are 2wd if not all

Reminder:

This actually started as a "meet and greet" but has snowballed into a run!! And that is a good thing. The Austin area could become Marble Falls for a run.
Marble Falls is in a westerly direction of Austin, and slightly north. Rough guess would be 125 miles. If the Dallas area took it, Gilmer would be the place for a run.

well it's like i said i may be only 2wd drive but if i can make it to a "meet and greet" or a run or whatever it's turning into i'm still lookin forward to meeting some of you guys and just tryin to have a fun time and meet new ppl. i'm pretty sure i'll be able to hang with some of your 4wd guys never had a problem with it before lol.

Sadly I am not ready to wheel any thing right now. all I have that in working 4wd condition is my Navajo, and I have a few kinks I need to work out.

That's what we first talked about 01, let's meet other members and put faces to names. If we can wheel 2wd and 4wd's at the same meet on trails suited for each members rides, then bs at the end of the day then, by george, lets do it.

Kris, If your JP X can make it to where we end up at, just your rig being there would be the highlight of the meet!! Bet someone could pull some T-rex repellant out of their bag of tricks.

It is clear I should of gave this more thought and planning, and the confusion and snafu's are my fault. Getting the place and time down will never be perfect for each member who wants to attend. (there is a member in Japan who would one hell of a drive if he could make it, but he is serving our country,:chug:)

This reminds me, there are no negitive responses to the meet being held the 6 and 7th of Nov. So since there is no negitive responses, Nov 6 and 7th will be the weekend of the meet.
Will update the 2nd post of the thread. (it will be that post for updates on this thread, Ben, your still a richard)

Sadly the JP X needs tires and an alignment... Also I would be glad to offer my house as a spot for the meet and greet. Since I live in Austin and I have a house in a cul-de-sac so lot of parking.

That can be fixed just asked Mr.Q and I

LOL. That's right. $1500 and year's worth of work will land you a 4wd Explorer in the gearing you want with the transfer case you want and parts from four different Explorers and one Ranger.

Transfer Case 1354M - 91 Ranger
Front Diff and Suspension - 93 Explorer XLT 4x4
Drive shafts and Locking Hubs - 94 Explorer XL 4x4
4x4 Transmission - 92 Explorer
3.73 LS Rear axle - 92 Explorer

Which reminds me, I HAVE A 4X4!! Well in a technical sense. I can't shift it into 4wd due to this little linkage that attaches to the xfer case (I can't find it anywhere!!), but everything else is there, installed, and working.
