Sad to say, but this rig is going into storage for a few months. :(

New job is on the road, and I will be gone for months before I can move this to where ever I may end up. So no more posts for a long time. Sigh...

Bugger about the storage mate:( But all the best for the new job, hope everything works out well:thumbsup:

x2!!!

You can always leave your toys with me! What kind of new job are you venturing into?

What kind of new job are you venturing into?

Insurance claims estimating, from storm damages across the Nation.

Figured I needed something that is still in demand, and Mother Nature gives us that in a steady supply. 1 storm can provide 3-4 months of work, and they always overlap each other. This provides year round work. :)

:salute:

Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope I never have to meet you... (at least because of your new job, an EF meet would still be good) :D

Good thinking on the stability of the job. At this point you have to take what you can get too. Hopefully things turn around soon with the economy so you can get back to what you do. I'm gonna feel the effects of the economy and budget cuts... I just graduated to be a teacher.... all the districts are laying off.

Best of luck! You could always throw the ex on a trailer and take it up to PA and I will keep the tires warm for you in the mean time.

LOL!

I hear ya Kert. Storms have been Brutal last couple of years. I will see a lot of heart break, and see some terrible things, but I will also see acts of humanity because of it. I really need this to re-store my beliefs that there are still good people left in this crazy mixed up world. Joplin folk comes to mind.

Vince, thanks for the offer, but the rig has a good temporary home for now. Best part is he wouldn't have a clue on how to work any of the mods. Just the ones I show him in case he needs to move it around some. :D

I'm so sorry to hear this Gman. I know it may not be much, but if the CCR happens this year, the misses and I will go, and you're welcome to come with.

I'll even let you captain the Beast if you'd like to for a bit on the trails (or the Rubicon if you can stand the dishonor).

Wow! What an honer that would be! Thank you for the generous offer.

If I do make it back to CCR (I will), it will be with my son, and of course, we will have to take one of the rigs.

on top of the steady work, youll get to see the country too

I have done a 9 month road tour in the past. I have seen so much of this beautiful country (VIA back roads) already, but there is so much more to see. I have no idea how long I will be doing this for. 3 months, a year, till retirement? :dunno:

Thanks for the words of encouragement fellows! :salute:

Carry on good sir! And good luck! :salute:

Thanks Naasau! :)

New neighbors moved in and have a cat that fell for the BH.

I named her Foxy (as I don't know it's real name) because of the markings on it.

Hey all, long time no post....

Been working crazy long hours and never have time to be on here much anymore.

Anywho....The trans / clutch is giving me fits on this rig. Fighting it to go into/out of gears. It is worse the first time it is used for the day, and almost impossible to get into reverse after start up. Have to place it into reverse then start the engine. Fight to get it into 1st then to second, and almost wont go into 3rd at all.

Now, after it warms up a bit, it isn't as hard to get into a gear, but still, it is a struggle. It's almost as if the clutch is only working at 75%. :dunno:

Trying to think of what part(s) could be causing this issue has got me perplexed a tad.

Shifter?
Throwout bearing?
Slave cylinder?
Syncros?

:banghead:

To me it sounds like a combo hit, with there being a slow leak/air bubble somewhere in either the master or slave cylinder, alongside a shifter bushing issue.

I'm told that the bushing issue thing can be easily fixed, and can cause hard shifting in all gears. I will be attempting it soon, so I can report back with findings.

Will do, with pics!

The Beast has only been a manual for about 1000 miles, so I'm still new at this. Please bear with me.
