Titanvs F150

I just want to add my 2cents... My '05 F150(5.4) is WEAK. It may have 300hp, but it has absolutely no low end torque. Drive-by-wire is crap-it makes its lack of power feeling even worse. It rides smooth though. I wish I had a Titan, but since this is my company truck, I didn't have a say so. And Titans are made here in Mississippi.

I wish my F150 had the power of the Explorer; and I wish my Explorer rode like the F150.

There's a TSB out to fix the lack of power off the line. It reprograms the drive by wire function to open the throttle quicker. They did the TSB on my truck and it made a world of difference. From a dead standstill, if I just bury the throttle off the line on dry pavement, it'll smoke the tires easily.

My truck barely chirps them-it acts like I have traction control or something:)

I am not a fan of Ford or Nissans full center consoles. I believe a truck should have a column shifter and legroom. My XLT was ordered with a manual TC and fold down console/bucket seats. Dont get me wrong, I think the full consoles look great, but they just dont leave you with much room.

I live in a small town, just saw a Titan for the first time today
Boy I sure knew it was a TITAN V8 . Those side badges are huge.
Take them off though and that is one cool truck. I got to see this up close, it has a special exhaust ( nissan racing or whatnot) and sounds great. It is confusing to think nissan and hear that tone

All the Titans sound good..

I just replaced the rear windshield wiper motor on my '99 Ford Explorer ( http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1222801#post1222801 ) - a DOMESTIC vehicle.

Funny thing is that clearly marked on the new ( Ford part ) wiper motor is "made in Mexico". This was also marked on the original part that I replaced.

Sorry for the poor quality photo.

So much for FORD being an all American truck.

I remember when I replaced that "Valeo" rear wiper motor in my GT, except mine was from France.

Explorers ain't American. M5OD is a Mazda design. A4LD is a french design. 4.0L is German (Cologne V6).

So much for buying American

And all the windsor V8's (the Explorer's beloved 5 liter included) were from Canada. :)

Hmm...happen to know if the TSB applies to the 4.6. Granted it is weak but i have felt the same way about the forkin drive by wire throttle system too!
