Weak link

Having issues getting my hand held to connect with my 2003 Eddie Bauer. Everything is fine with the vehicle. Just wanted to link it up to explore a few things. The port I’m using is directly under the steering wheel. I’ll add a picture for reference. Thoughts? TIA

I'd also check the fuse for the diagnostic port.

Any bent pins on the port or the connector? Has the reader been dropped or exposed to the weather? Just because the screen is twitchy.

Haven’t looked at the pins but it’s doubtful. I will check just to know. And the screens is a bit off for whatever reason. That being said, it links up to my other vehicles just fine.

Thanks for the direction. I’ll check to be safe but I’m guessing the fuse is fine considering the power outlet is working. Not sure what is going on.
