i got the chrome ones, i think from truckperformance.com. they were around $400. If you get them you want to locate your egr line because you may have to call to get the right one. mine was on the drivers side.

i think it will be a good race i've raced my friends 01 accord 4 cyl with intake exhaust and my friends stock civic and smoked them. my best suggestion is off the line if u have an automatic. Hold the brake and step on the gas a lil just till u can feel the car starting to move this way your torque converter will kick in and you'll take off faster.

well i raced a dodge ram 1500 (not sure if it was a hemi) but i somewhat got spanked in my escort. oh well it happens... its not hard for a 124 crank hp car to lose to a modern truck

friend of mine and i raced his lifted 95 Ram 1500 sport(it is damn big) with a 5.9 360 and it beat the living sh*t out of a civic.

Who cares if you can beat a stock civic or not. I think I saw somebody else say this... If you win this race, wow...you beat a civic. If you loose, everybody will laugh at your slow truck(win or loose, Explorers ARE slow unless you are heavily modded.) You are driving an SUV, what is the point of racing ANYthing, unless you have it set up to go fast? If you really want to race the guy, go out and rent a hyundai or something. and for god's sake, if you're gonna go through with this idiocy, take it to the track so that you dont kill anybody.

i really don't think it's possible for you to comprehend why i would race the civic. racing is fun and when you lose it doesn't mean everyone laughs at you it just means you raced a car faster than yours. the concept here is which one is faster, my explorer or his civic, the only real way to find this out is to race.

I understand the whole racing concept. what I dont understand is the point of racing an off road vehicle, on road. Also, since you must race your truck on road, Why race a stock civic.

Theres nothing cool or fun about racing cars with 120hp and 80ft-lbs to the wheels. I dont care what you're racing them in. Personally, if you raced a stock civic and lost...I would laugh and point.

Edit: Civics have 120hp and 80ft-lbs at the crank. prolly closer to 100hp and 60ft-lbs at the wheels.

A 4000+ pound vehicle with a 4" lift and..... 33's? Why would it be funny if he lost? He's already at a big disadvantage. I think it would be funny if he won.

seriously though where do you think nastruck came from, they were regular truck and some one said hey lets race, and a bunch of people said " why its a truck its not supposed to be fast" and look at it now, same with mud drags and tractor pulls, it all goes back to the same answer...

Actually I think it is fun to race the Civic's and other uneducated ricers and the Euro sports cars too. The ricers don't know what fast is and the Eurocar guys think that their car is the fastest on the planet. Those are the funnest to beat in an Explorer or other "slow vehicle" because of the look on their face afterwards. There are probably only about 4 of us on here that could beat some of the older Eurocars though. As for the Civics? Well heck, my pop bottle has more displacement than them! hehe.

Hey man its cool. Just relax a little bit. I understand where your coming from. I also see where they are coming from too. I have raced many vehicles in the past that I knew for a fact would hand me my butt. I have raced many vehicles that I knew I would murder. Even though I knew the outcome I still raced because it is fun. Allot of people see racing as a win / lose sport. I see it as a fun social sport to get together with fellow gearheads and other people. I guess what I am saying is that some people just want to have fun sometimes, whether it be on a lawnmower(don't get me started) or a 600 hp Mustang.
