Once again, I am asking for your opinion on the Black Hole.

What do you think of the Hood mounted Bug Shields?

YAY....or ......NAY?

Oh hail no.

nope, had one on the '91 when i got it and all it did was scratch up the hood.

Oh hail no.

Bwhahaha!

The reason I am asking is, the rig already had it on when I got it. I have left it on, and have thought about removing it many times. I am about to do some work on the body and was looking at it wondering if I should just yank it off.

Honestly, I am scared to find out what the hood looks like underneath it.

nope. they really don't do much. glad i ditched mine, but it was for obvious reasons.

No on the bug shield. Snowball had one when I bought 'er, and it came off as soon as i got home.

Not a big fan, but I'll sport one to keep the front hood edge from getting sandblasted.

Maybe consider clear bra, or roll-on bedliner...

Are the bug shields to keep the bugs off the windshield? Do they really work? The only clear reason I can imagine getting one is to keep all the rock dings off of the very front of the hood for highway travel.

I vote no.

Nay.

When I first got my XLT home I pulled the bug guard and vent visors before I even got the motor running!

haha me too. (on my 93) before i even popped the hood to replace the (Cracked) heads, i ripped that ugly piece of junk off, crunched it up and through it in the garbage.

I vote with. I like the way they look. *shrug*

And to answer some of the questions, no, it doesn't seem to do much about the bugs on the windshield.
