Congrats on the starting of Pickle!!! :D:D:cool::salute:

as far as the oil pressure gauge, check and make sure, while running, you are getting continuity with ground on the DG/WH wire in the engine bay coming off the oil pressure switch. you should be able to check it in the big square connector that goes to the engine bay harness. Pin 26 IIRC off the top of my head.

I'll check it tomorrow... any idea what's causing the fast idle? I'm idling at roughly 1500 rpm...

I'm hoping that once I've run it long enough that I can scan it and see if I've got any codes, I've also got to put the airbags in...

Electrically, the TPS, IAC, & ECM can all contribute to the high idle. Check the voltage on the TPS, clean the IAC. Did you swap the ECM out?

Physically, the throttle cable & or cruise cable can cause high idle. Check to make sure nothing is binding anywhere.

I used the TPS and the MAF from the 4.0 of the same year as the ones from the V8 were smashed. Numerically they were the same, so I didn't think it would be a problem. I'll give the IAC valve a clean today see if that makes a difference...

Thanks guys

Thanks Tim, I certainly like the sound of the whole being first thing!!

Thanks Jon, I'll have another look at the fluids today... hopefully get her running right!

if the iac is backwards, engine vacuum will pull the internal plunger open, allowing too much air and high idle speed. It can be mounted backwards and is an easy mistake to make.

The tail of the IAC is facing the front of the truck, is that correct? I haven't moved it, that's how it was on the donor. I'm guessing it's going to be a low fluid issue, as I had to completely fill the system from empty...

was kinda hoping you would be the second :D. or at least to be the second one running! lol

well, after running her upto temp today, I discovered that.

A) the top rad hose had a few holes in it
B) my rad might be leaking
C) the transmission lines are toast

So, I'm going to have to find these parts and hopefully before I can put it in for a safety..

Grrr.. but, I'm still happy that it runs!

So close you can smell it now mate. Awesome.

I did a code scan on her and no codes....

So I took some pictures instead
