01 sport - 4.0 SOHC STS turbo charged (Project complete)

do u got video clips of ur 01 sport turbo

I don't have any good ones but there are some somewhere in here and on u tube.

Just when I get the opportunity to start working on it again I hit a road block and don't get a chance to enjoy for long. If I would leave it alone I'd be fine but I can't stay that way for long for some reason. more more more.

I'm pretty sure the problem now is the u bolts holding the rear worked there way loose. If anyone has ever used the lowering blocks they'll know that those u bolts that come with the kit stretch like crazy when torqued down. It just needs to be re-torqued.

That sounds nice and seems to be a very reliable setup.

Not so sure on the 1/8 mile run, the 1 to 2 shift sounds a bit hairy, trans is probably on its last leg.

So Jakee, any updates? How she running?

what do i type in you tube to find ur sport turbo charged.

do i type 01 sport turbo or turbo 01 sport or what or does anyone on here have the links to see jakes turbo sport.

It's a bad video anyways. I'll do a new one for you.

That would be me :p:

I have got a much better time out of it since that. (13.1)

haha ! thats sick!!! you can get grocerys even faster nowright?!?? haha :D ;)

yeah faster the new stock mustangs are 13.5 at best

wowwww i just drove a gt today and that was fast... that mountaineer must be nastyyyy!

I'm pretty sure I'd give the old mounty a run for the money. ;)

However, I'm also pretty sure I've broke something cuz something ain't right with the truck. Mind you, I just got both wheels spinning and then ran into wheel hop. After that I installed cal-traks and the wheel hop is gone but I've damaged something. The problem is it feels like the truck is slipping out of gear in first soon after the boost kicks in.

So I start out half throttle to get it off the line without spinning. Around 3000 to 3500 RPMS i'm at full boost and I hear an aweful sound like something is striped, the truck almost over revs, I get out of the throttle as quick as possible, the RPMs start coming back down and then it catches and shakes the whole truck. So either the tranny, the drive shaft, or the rear end is toast. I'm thinking tranny.

Now if I drive normal I don't feel any slip at all. Another thing I can think of is the tune may have a torque limit where it will let go if I cross that. Any ideas are welcome here.

Oops, also the ABS light comes on after this. I guess I'm not thinking - I'll go pull the code.

Well hopefully you find out what's wrong with it.

I'm gonna start with the rear-end first since that's the last thing I touched. I'm hoping that's what it is.

There was no stored code.

Just pulled the rear cover and it's not the rear end. Pulling the drive shaft next.

I admit, I'm a little scared to drain out the tranny fluid cuss my gut feeling tells me that's what it is.

If this tranny was just slipping then I'd try a new one but the only way I can describe this is it feels like a standard when you don't have it engaged correctly and it's not close to the shift point yet.

So either a C4, 700r4, 5r55s.....

nice video jake it looks awesome

I think for racing the 4R70W would be best, but ask Rob about that, he would know if there is one with the 4.0 bell housing pattern.

I'll probably have to get an adaptor made.
