3800 M90 Build

I think you can plug the hardware in to your computer under your kick panel, and with the software and a laptop you can do your data logging and tuning.

Looks pretty powerful.
Might be a steep learning curve though

I would have to think that for ob2

I dont think it is. Ill re read it.

EEC 4 and 5. Thats you, isn't it?

Got the rest of my parts in today, ill post some pics when i get home.also just got my Christmas bonus and just sealed a LARGE order with the NG at work so we are SUPER busy.after i get my intake manifold done(,on Mon) ill be sending the charger off.i should have it back in about three weeks, then its on like donkey Kong!!ill be ordering my water/meth kit and NOS kit on the 27.im going with the snow boost 2 kit that adjust w/m by the maf voltage.im only doing a small shot of nos and only during race conditions.thing i was wonding about though is,wouldn't the nos freeze the water in the water/meth when they are both going off?

I really recommend against the Snow Performance meth kit. The pumps Snow uses are notorious for failing. I suggest that you go with some place like AIS instead. They use much better pumps and they can support higher psi too.

Really?ill look into it.thanks

It is not OBD-II dependent since it doesn't not plug in through an OBD port.

Ha idk !i think its a 4

Jd you are EEC-IV. This looks like it would be able to take care of your tuning and datalogging needs for your truck. But I would not recommend that you tune it yourself. Learning how to custom tune takes years to even become proficient at it; and that is only after having a full understanding of exactly how all the sensors work and how the ECM interprets the data between them to make the vehicle run properly. I also personally feel that another prerequisite is being quite adept at math and algebraic equations. And on top of that forced induction is even less forgiving than a naturally aspirated vehicle so you would be fighting an uphill battle while on a large learning curve. I am not saying it is an impossible task, but if you do succeed and end up making reasonable and safe power then it would be definitely much more an exception than the rule.

O no way would i ever think about doing the tuning my self.

Definately not a tune yourself thing, but it does open you to datalogging, and installing tunes you are given. It would also allow you to make minor adjustments yourself as you learned the whole thing.
I saw it as a possible cure to an issue that might come up.
looks like a cool product.

Why wasn't this mentioned when we was talking about data logging?I've been looking into a ob2 piggy back system.it would only control the engine and the stock ecm will do everything else.im going 5speed and the only other thing is the speedo .but that's way down the road.ill prob just end up paying someone to take care of all it.just for the record i have a masters card in electricity and i got that after my nerves went south on electronics.numbers and mechanical principles is how my brain works.i just don't know **** about tuning,im an old school motor head.some day i would like to learn about it but tuning seems to be some kind of secret society:(hahah

I know what you mean JD. It doesn't exactly look easy. I do think if you had the time and the desire, you could get a handle on it. Somehow, I don't think you have the time (At least not to learn all that for one tune).

Anyway, I just thought this was extremely relevant to this thread, and there may be someone else down the road that it might be a fit for. It looks like pretty cool hardware/software.

Yes thank you.like i said i am a newbie to FI and tuning so i need all the help possible;)

got my boost gauge for Christmas and my MAF is going out tue to get tuned.also i have pushed back the purchase of the w/m till i do some more research and im pushing back sending the charger out for another 2weeks.im sending turtle my sohc oil pan, valve covers, water neck and coil bracket to get powdercoated in the meantime ;)the intake manifold pipe is going in sometime this week to get cut and welded, they are nervous about the pipe being thin and alum.at $20 a pipe i hope they dont burn through it to bad or at all!!

Me and xeek went to the junkyard today and i picked up another fuel rail so i can start to port match and port and polish the lower SC mount now.also got my new fuel neck for my tank so i can drop that and put the new pump in now also.

Dropped the pipe off today to get welded.i also started port matching the lower charger mount.its pretty far off and has very sharp edges.i spent 4 hours on the main charger hole and 4 hours on the 6 lower manifold holes.thats just to a ruff match.i still need to fine port and polish it still!!i wish i took pics of how far off and all the sharp edges.i dont even know how he was build any boost at all the way the lower mount and intake manifold was, both was SO restricting .with all the sharp and tight bends he had to be running super high intake temps!.ill post some pics when im done.

Looking forward to pics!

Remember that boost is kind of a way of measuring restriction to flow, not how much flow you've got. So if he had a restrictive setup after the blower then you'd expect his boost level to be higher. P&P should lower the boost, but increase the amount of flow.

O very true.ok then i bet very little of that boost was getting used and it was very hot.but again if no air is getting to the charger how can it build boost?;)

Im interested in how this pan's out.
JD, your motor is pretty free flowing now. If I read this right, you may not get a ton of boost showing and will still get quite a bit more power. Is this correct?

Lots of good info coming out of this.

I hear a 2.7 runs 10-11 on a stock motor.i figure with all my p+p and 10.5:1 it should still be close to that.im starting with a 3.2 pulley and going from there.i wanna keep it safe till i figure out tuning.

Oh you meant restrictive on the intake side. Yeah you are def right on that part
