Color's Run at Tellico - Oct 10-12

I just found something we all might me interested in.

Jeep Jamboree

The one place I should've looked, but didn't until today ,which is www.tellico4x4.com.

They are scheduled for the same weekend we are. Any ideas?

Sorry I didn't check it out sooner guys.

Lol, I saw that a few days ago, but did not think anything of it. So what do you say, whos got $250?:p Hey, on their application, the "Vehicle" field does have a "Other" option...

It looks like it is gonna be too crowded up there, yall should move it to the next weekend so I can come:D

Yall make sure to show some Jeeps that "soccer mom suv's" can do as much as they can, yall have a good time.

dang.. that sucks. i'm still game but i can also do the next weekend if that is better for others.

I don't think you can order direct from them. I sent my No-slip to Tech support because of a slipping problem. They think it my be weak springs, but we shall see what they say after it has been checked out.

This is going to be VERY tight for me anyway. I completly forgot that Sandi and I are heading down to San Antonio next week and won't be back until the Oct. 5th. So the locker has to be here waiting on me so I can get it back in for the trip!:(

Rick, I plan to be a Powertrax dealer within the month and have been talking to them and went there yesterday as a matter of fact.

As for the Jeeps, I thought it was already discussed but just noticed that it wasn't, I thought you all knew that the Jamboree was that weekend, oops .... anyway, I don't want to change weekends, I can't wait to show off in front of them :D

It doesn't matter to me that much, it will just be kinda hectic on the trails though won't it.

I'd kinda like to show off in front of jeeps too. Everytime I take the Ranger out, I always seem to surprise people. Wonder why.

We may need to simply find out their schedule and then make very sure that we are on the trail in front of them. That means you'll finally have to be on time for once, LOL.

edit wow, I just noticed I'm over 4,000 posts, I got to get back to work, LOL.

lol, haha!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Gerald, lol. But that was funny though. I am probly gonna ride up with you on Fri. evening. So, I might be on time. We'll just see.

Man i'm dying to come down!! I just have a way to get down there. Looks like you all are going to have a blast! I'll have to see if i can find a truck and trailer somewhere.

Ok well since I am one of the few non explorer guys here, here is some info on jeep jamborees ( yes i have been to one)

When I went , we staged at the little school right inside town at 730 or 8am
so if you guys want to beat them to the trails, you are gonna have to leave early

Also they send off all the bigger well built rigs first and then they send the newbies

so if you wake up late and get behind the newbies, it will be a long day. :D

most of the bigger rigs will ride all th ehard trails like: guard rail, lower 2 school bus etc... but there is usually only a few rigs in that group

most rigs on jamborees are fairly new and not built up which means larger groups that do not do hard trails, which also means slower and a lot of traffic on all the trails going in and coming out.

i say best bet is to go ealry or follow the hard group

i got tires on my heep so i should be game as long as i dont have to work any who how far in advance do we have to reserve a camp site? does anyone have an official count of who is going?

Is the fall jamboree a smaller turn out or bigger turn out than the spring jamboree?

I have tried to find some stuff on the jamborees but all I can find is dates and the registration form.

We definately need to be in FRONT of the Jeeps.

Last i heard Fall was bigger.
When I went there were 125 jeeps there :)
Most registered so did not.
Plus all the trail guides.
It was a full park

Surprising part was, if you were in the front group you never saw any other group all day.

ok.. so we HAVE to be up and out of the campground early! sounds like it'll be a packed house!

btw... did anyone want to share a spot at the campground? gerald, is your lady friend going to be there? i'm doing everything i can to talk my wife into going.

I might be interested in sharing one with you jason. Sammy and his nephew are still thinking about it due to the jamboree and all. If they do come up, which is a 90% chance they will be there, they are gonna bring a pop up camper.

btw...we got sammy's lifted sat. it looks good, he still has to have his tires mounted and an alignment.

i will be doing another run up there after oct. is over. either there or a north ga run. i'll let you know about the site though.

Yep, Ashli will be there, and I think her five year old son and my eleven year old son will be with us too. :)

I will bet that the newbie Jeep group will be going down 6 instead of up it. And I'd like to get a good look at Slickrock, so what about going up 6 to get to 4 and then over to Slickrock to watch me get some damage, lol?

josh, have you made a reservation? if not, i can. i was thinking of getting a site with hookups since its only like 2 bucks more when split. what do you think?

gerald.. i'm up for that! have you been to tellico since we last went? 6 was redone and has tons of burms from making runoff channels. we came down it last time and it was just up, down, up, down. should be more fun going up. going down it wasn't fun at all.

I don't have one reserved yet jason. Go ahead and make it, that would be cool.

Gerald, I'm looking forward to watching you attempt Slickrock. Are you gonna try it from the top or the bottom? Is anyone else gonna try it with him?
