You have a 1354E you need a 1354M

Ok thanks, I wasnt sure what exactly to look for and this was the closest thread I could find to it. So thank you for answering my question :D

well, in between work and school i have managed to slowwwwly get this thing together... lol -were gettin there--
excuse the dangling wires, they came down when i pulled the carpet and the pic was taken at night :p:
origonal f150 linkage, weatherboot, beauty boot, and shift knob

Does anyone have problems with the shifter rubbing there leg while driving?

now this may be a stupid question, but i cant get it into low... i think. i havent tried it with the engine on, but sitting somewhere i pull out, and get 1 click down (4x4 hi) but then i cant go further.. what do you think?

hmm, you might try it with the engine off in park.
It does take quite a tug to get it back. Are you sure your linkage isn't hitting somewhere?

i havent tried shifting it with the engine running... im sure i will figure it out tommorow...but to get it out of 2hi to 4x4hi should you have to push out and pull or just pull?

Nope none. Its right against the center console. Not touching but close.

Mine, has to be engine running, put truck in 'N' and then it goes anywhere no problems. For some reason mine is harder to pull into 4 Low if its in park. Which doesn't matter because if I am using 4 low I am driving! :) Never any grind or trouble shifting when in 'N' :)

well my swap is now complete!! got my front driveshaft from Jon on Wednesday and put it in today. also found out why i couldn't shift into low. the stock f150 boot is mounted further towards the passenger side and not off centered where it needs to be to allow shift movement....so for future 4406ers! MOUNT THE WEATHERSTRIP BOOT FAR ENOUGH TO THE LEFT TO ALLOW SHIFT MOVEMENT!. i remedied this by hammer and flat chiseling around it to allow necessary movement :hammer: i have yet to try the 4low but tonight i hit up my fav hole for a little testing.....famous quote for the day.

"""""""1 click down and you're ready for fun :D """"""""

i love 4 low in the 96 its a crawler! careful it can overpower your brakes somtimes!!

im preparing myself for a god awful grind when shifting to low :wtf: lol

I was under my 96 the other day, the clearance I had between my 4406 t case and modified gas tank bracket is no longer clearance.... it is resting on it

The stock trans and engine mounts needs help me thinks with this monster on the back....with the cam my drivetrain doesnt exactly idle smooth LOL.... need to get some clearance back

<<<eating trans mounts--and I don't drive the Mounty much. I attributed it to the burnouts-:D
Are you going to try to come up with something Jamie? A solid mount scares me.

anyway to wedge a "spacer" of sorts into the trans mount? Since it's C-shaped. :dunno:

I read about the older trucks using the aftermarket urethane mounts, can that be used to make one fit. If a urethane mount can be found that isn't thicker than the stock part, it would be a good place to start. Try to find one with the two trans bolt pattern matching the 4R70W trans.
