Going Electric?

Yep see the issue is they want total and complete control and sure we can all go EV but what will they force us to do next?
When it comes to being independent with transportation the EV is the better choice, IMO. The reason is that there are so many ways to produce electricity by the individual. Micro hydro, wind and solar allow a person to produce their own fuel. With a decent battery bank one can provide most of their daily energy needs. A person can't manufacture their own gasoline, diesel, propane etc. Then one could power EV bikes, ATVs etc. to use for travel, farm use etc. The key is to be able to produce your own fuel if things get really bad.

Nope actually i believe the most recent ICE are cleaner than EV
That's said by people biased against evs with no data to support the claims.
My personal experience, oil,oil filter, trans fluids, diff fluids, gas, exhaust soot, are dirty. It is, and should be difficult to get rid of them. Don't want em in my house.

Meanwhile, electric motors do work inside our homes without concern .

True that's a good point I wonder if we can run vehicles on stuff like vodka?

True we are a leader, but do we want to turn in to a country where we force people to do things "socialism" like other countries I believe there should be a choice also most newer ICE vehicles have way less emissions than cars 20 years ago
true im all for choice. i dont think they can force it on us, bht i do think a decrease is a decrease no matter where it come from. that said its walking the line between highly reccomend etc and nesrly forcing

True but my whole point is in the end what's the effects of all of this like with the grid and disposing of these batteries/vehicles i'm not big on the environment either especially when 3M is dumping chemicals in the water near me

Exactly it's a very thin line

Well, you should see what an oil well does to an otherwise beautiful landscape.

Each well ruins an acre
i can still hear the creak creak noise lol

yeah, im too split lol i can go either way. and hmmmmm ill have to look i to the 3m thing think we was talking about it earlier but rocketdyne lol

Hopefully the batteries can be recycled, like they are now.

I thought litheum was found under ancient salt lakes.

Ikea kills trees. Lithium kills way less

Yep and guess what we actually got sick from it unlike ICE vehicles so yeah im not worried about my exhaust emissions im more worried about these companies that dump all this crap in our water and land but yet we are the ones that should go green while they continue to do what they want with no repercussions

I'm in between on all of this yes EVs are great for some applications but i honestly don't see how our infrastructure can handle it i mean here we might be able to handle it because we use nuclear power plants but still idk how it will work in the longterm plus most people down here will not go electric trust me soon enough we will be seeing more and more older cars on the roads and less newer or EVs

It would need to be fairly high proof to use as a gas substitute. However, the cost to manufacture it would be very high. Lots of heat is needed plus a lot of corn, potatoes etc. which means using your food sources to make fuel. Humans have become very good at generating electricity over the past 125-150 years using any number of methods. Plus, electric motors are extremely reliable and easy to repair/rebuild. Much easier than a combustion engine. There are 100 year old electric motors that still work as when they were new.

For now, eventually they will try and force us to all electric
For some years now, each new administration is the opposite of its predecessor! After the inflation of the last 2 years, I expect some reversal of federal
I agree 100% that they never thought out the entire process out nor did they think of how many industries would be affected by this. They also never thought about people wanting to take a 300 mile trip for the weekend because these vehicles would need to be charged so many times the weekend would be shot! How about being stranded on the highway in a snowstorm trying to have heat in the vehicle until help came?
Yes, I know that the entire idea is silly but it is a 'what if' that I was wondering about.
Wouldn't be a 'what if' in Wisconsin or a lot of other states. All it takes is a backup on the highway long enough, although it's a problem for gas vehicles also without a mostly full tank! As far as converting my Ex, have considered CNG, they do a lot of that in Europe. Not sure it's the money saving solution however. Would like to see how new tech for alternative fuels comes on the scene.

True i think EVs would be better adopted if they wasn't being forced on to people and they wasn't phasing out gas cars but the more they force the worse it will be on sales of EVs especially in southern states

Yep that is true also e fuels is a great idea that i am all for crap if they can make it reasonable enough to retrofit and buy ill do it in a heartbeat if its cheaper

I believe the plan is to ban gasoline and oil all together that's another reason I believe it's time for America to stand up and fight these democratic idiots that believe we should do what they say when they say and the sad part is they don't want us happy they talk all this BS about going green while they fly around in jets and drive ice vehicles their plan will fail and if they keep pushing the envelope and doing extreme things I believe we are going to have either a civil war or an all-out war in our country and that is something I do not want to see I love my country and I will defend it if I have to now with that said there is hope that republicans will win the midterms in November and hopefully they can start fixing this crap and we can all go back to being united and happy again
You and me both! Likely you will be around much much longer to carry on. At least the Supreme Court 'has our back' in ruling the EPA can't just dictate energy policy, that's what Congress is for!

Yep our last hope is the Supreme Court to solve this crap but anyway yeah i hope we can all eventually figure out an in between this and develop e fuels or have both ICE and EVs

Trees are a renewable resource. They have been for thousands of years. Lithium, and other needed trace mineral/metals, mining is very destructive no matter where it is done. The associated chemicals and waste byproducts are massive. There is no free lunch with ICE vehicles or EVs. Pick your poison. Watch Michael Moore's documentary "Planet of the Humans." It is a very good unbiased look at the green energy industry.

I just showed a infrastructure free 40 mile per day vehicle. It'll get you there , charge in the sun while you work, and get you home.

In a couple years, there will be a lot of those, even more daily range.

I think a lot could be done to improve on hybrids - which have been on the market for years now and have a little bit of advantage. Rushing off to go whole hog on EVs is premature - BUT 'follow the money' as to who's looking to make money off pushing them - NOT restricted to the manufacturers of EVs, that is.
