How do i take off the fan blade?

Do you have a Chilton's or a Haynes manual for your truck yet??

Get a manual at a local auto parts store. While your there buy the special wrench you'll need to take it off. A store employee should know what part you need.

the fan/VC just unscrew with a big wrench. theres a special tool to keep the enginge from turning but i didn't need it for removal, just installation. if you have a manual transmission you could probably just leave it gear.

i know on a motorcycle you can stuff a nylon rope in to a cylender to keep the motor from turnig over.

So yours suggesting he take apart the entire top end to remove the fan?

Better question is, why do you need to take it off?

no you take out a plug, and stuff in some rope so the cilnder cant move...

wipe off fan blades
re install engine
