i want to put a few mods for now in to my explorer

I want to add that I studded my valvecovers, it makes the whole thing a lot easier. The gaskets can be slid on and stay aligned, then you slide the valve cover on and tighten nuts down. It would be a good investment to do this if you haven't already.

Thats smart, I might invest in that. Are your gaskets 1/8" thick (each) though? Im just a little curious.

Well I fixed the oil leak problem my self... costed me $7.

Truck runs nice now. I want to get it tunned... but looks like the chip will take a while due to upcoming bills, and school.

Things on my list now are custom CAI, Chip and tune, a few Braided or SS hoses

Are the new Torque Monster Headers complimenting things you've done to the engine? I'm very interested, as your Headers have the slightly larger exit and I was wondering how they are performing on that 347 stroker.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing myself. I was up in Torrance, CA last week and got a tour at Coast High Performance. Very impressive! They showed me 347 strokers in the making with Scat cranks and so on.

The headers are doing really well, they fit a lot better than the first set. I wanted to go in and get dynoed this week, but my work schedule was altered so maybe next week. Im thinking of ordereing a chip this payday so that I could get the truck tunned when I take it in.

Thanks for the headers Bob

Nice ride!

I've also expeianced alot of problems modding my truck.

It's been at my mechanics shop since Oct 04'......I missed it so much bought an 03 cobra

BTW.....I also have a 347 X. I live down here in Miami, Trolls stomping grounds.

My truck had A BD-11 S/C, TFS Track Heat intake, TFS Street heat heads, dual exhaust ...etc....

I made 340RWHP @ 9psi and ran 13.4 @ 102mph with mild tune and stock torque converter. I spun a cam bearing and decided to go Big! I just got the XB-1 installed and I'm now trying to plumb the intercooler. I will post new pics and Dynos in next few weeks. New combo should be good for over 500RWHP.....We'll see. Dom

im hoping for high 400's low 500's when i get an XB-1 and mod the top end of the motor.

you have any dyno specs when it was all motor?

eh... I just used some spread tabs...

these specificly, i only used 2 though (1 for the center of each side).
http://www.powerflowracing.com/prtdetail.asp?PD=421

yes they are for a chevy, but hey, it was the best looking one that i thought would solve my problem better than the triangle tabs.

this was the other option, and i didnt think it would of fixed my problem.

Now Im going to make me a custom intake using these parts...

http://www.powerflowracing.com/images/modcomponents.jpg

should cost me from $80-$100 excluding the new filter that I may need.

next thing after this... the Eliminator Switch Chip off of the bama site, Ill be placing my order tomorrow... or would I be better off with a single tune chip? or should I have the shop I got my truck modified at order a chip?

Those Chevy spread tabs work well on the small block Fords. I even used some on an AMC Javelin I built a while back. They do help!

Well I was going to order some more parts for the truck, but since I Accidentally curbed 2 of my rims so I need to fix them or order new ones... which sucks because all the places I called only sell sets of 4.

I was going to order a Trick Flow Intake Manifold (not sure which though), an SCT multi program chip, a shift kit and a torque converter... but looks like ill have to wait another 2 weeks or so.

p.s. which Trick Flow Intake Manifold should I go with? I was thinking this one http://www.trickflow.com/product/manifoldsandspacers/efi_51500002/pr_efi_51500002.asp I have to deal with smog if that helps any.

This one is really good, add a 1" spacer and you'll be good

http://professional-products.com/manifoldsProductford.php

scroll down page to see lower plennum
This is same as ED. Performer
Good for low to mid, with good upper rpms also, add the spacer for even longer runners- torque
Their egr elbow works with other manifolds also, and can be ported larger

What rims ddi you curb check? What kind of damage did you do?

I have NEVER heard of a wheel shop that will only sell 4, they are idiots.
Turning away a customer is just bad business.

Also when do we get to see some pictures of your truck and mods?

my 22's it did some scrapes, i dont think its that bad, but bing in SJ there really are no shops that do redipping here, so it would have to be sent out.

I didnt go to a shop because they would have to be ordered and it would take atleast a week. I was calling online companys.

Ill get some newer pics up soon. This weekend im attending a little meet with reps from a few companys so I may get a sponsorship... Im really only looking for the tire sponsorship... but others would be sweet.

SJ has the best replater on the west coast, call superior wheel and bumper, 1616 Pomona ave, San Jose, 408-947-7781
FYI,nobody redips rims, is no such thing, they need to be stripped, polished, copper plated, than chromed, would be cheaper to buy new rims

hmm I heard it would be between 150 and 300 to repair a rim.

i heard SJ has restrictions for rechroming... so most stuff will be sent out.

Ill give that place a call. I need a spare.
