Just washed my engine

If the vent is intact you would have a hard to injecting much water. The hole isn't very large.

I rechecked the trans fluid in the driveway-(like it was parked when I filled it) and it's not so full, so I might have a half quart too much fluid, but I don't see how I could have got even that much in that small tube-I wasn't spraying that long--

better safe than sorry-
I am going to drain the pan and torque converter-
walmart is open, so I'll go get a clean container-drain the fluid and let it set.
The water, if any, should separate, I would think. Then I will know whether to worry about that.

I would use 2lr bottles and drain it into them. That way you can see a definate seperation rather than the top layer

hmmm are you sure the vacuum modulator line is hooked up and did'nt get damaged/disconnected during the pressure wash?

just a thought i had.

I really do need all the support I can get-

These transmission don't have one. The are completely electronically controlled.

It should be the top layer but you might get a better idea of how much water there is.

but again this may make it worse

Question?????????????
Where can I monitor the shift "commands" with a voltmeter?

Is there a way to see if the transmission is being told to shift and just not listening?

ah i did not know that since i am still plugging along with the analog A4:eek::D

If water is in the trans fluid, it should look noticeably different immediately.

The two shifting wires should have a measurable voltage on them. I might wonder about the gear selector sensor on the side there, that could be affected by water.

Try to get with James about a tune to work with the Lightning MAF. That might be a better first step. Night,

Couple if questions, did you use high pressure to clean the engine bay? I always use a cleaner and a water hose, haven't had any problems as of yet on any vehicles.
2)To your above question yes there is a way to see what is going on with the computer versus the tranny. Download the livelink software and select the perspective pids in the datalogger and datalog the tranny. Remember you do have a ExCal I sold you. :p:. For example you can see the commanded gear versus the actual gear. BTW-To hell with trying to see what the tranny is doing with a voltmeter. LOL. You can make a run save the file and look at it when you are in the comfort of your own home. Or on side of the road after the drive cycle is completed.

Ah ha!
I was wondering about that.

Thanks James!

Monday we had storms keep me up on tornado watch all night. Last night it was this.
Today I'm wrecked-so it's a good day to study this software and use.

James? Could you please give me a list of parameters to log?

I'd like to see all the stuff that could have gotten wet-
TPS
MAF counts

rpm, throttle position absolute, short term fuel trim bank 1 & 2,open loop flag, maf ad counts, load, trans commanded gear, actual gear, vehicle speed. I am sure I will edit for you to add more. I always do.

Ummm, I'm just about out of gas.
I'm not:fart:LOL

I'm going to try the lightning electrics in the pro -m housing.
I highlighted this in your other thread but they won't fit. As the Pro-m has the cal tube integrated into the meter and the Lightning meter has the cal tube integrated into the electronics. The hole in the meter is a different size as well. Roughly 1/2" versus the size of a quarter for the L-meter.-j

Well -I got the dishwasher fixed. Another little wench thrown in the mix-:(
This time it got a new control panel.

Now, as for the Data,
As with any software program, you need to learn it like riding a bike to become error free,
I'm still taking the incorrect steps, such as switching the car off, closing windows
yada yada-
I did get some data. If I can figure out how to post it I will. I'm going to email it to James for verification, but from what I can tell, the transmission is not being commanded to shift-until I physically move the shifter into the "2" position.

The indicated shift position does seem to works though--and like I said-not a single code.
So, I guess that is kinda good news-

Okay, not. I hope there is a better reason for the PCM to not command 3rd and 4th, that's the weird kind of symptom that a MAF might be connected with. Were the MAF signals linear, did they make sense?
