So I had this crazy idea for rock lights... I just changed my trailer over to LED trailer lights, they are a jewel like lens and super bright! So what if I switched to LED red lights for rock lights? With the theme it would look cool...I think:rolleyes:

Dumb or no?

Jefe had those multi colored lights under his and the red looked cool. If they're bright enough, I say go for it. I need to switch to LED rock lights too, the cheap lights I'm using suck donkey.

I was thinking of mounting a red light under the front so that the spotter knows when you have your foot on the brake pedal (tapped to the brake electrical of course). It would make it a bit safer for the spotter when he/she has to pile rocks for the tires cauz the driver can't always see the spotter especially when the vehicle is pointing up at the sky.

I think the red would be a good choice. Red light doesn't kill any night vision you have when you are out in the dark. So for spotters and even you, possibly, it would help you to see better. As long as the lights are good and bright enough to see, I think it would be a great choice.

I've been looking at putting LED rock lights under the X in addition to the 12V drop lights I have under there now.. Using LED's I could space them out some and put them where I couldn't fit other things.. Like in the fender wells etc.

I like my 12V drop lights as they don't draw much power but an LED bar might be brighter and will draw even less power. LED light bars cost more though.. I have 4 12v drop lights.. each one cost me $10.. an led light bar costs more than double than the 12v drop light.. But individual bright LEDs are somewhat cheap, but I'd have to build my own enclosure for them..

I voted stick with white. I just think it would make things easier to see.

Some of the Chevys I think in Canada had brake lights hooked up to the front turn signals, so when you braked your turning indicators lit up.

The red lights could not be visable from the front...because that would be against the law;)

^^^ well not sure if you know or not but..... when it says 6000k that means the "color" rating where as the mcd means basiccaly how bright is it, like a typical 10mm led is like 55,000mcd.
