Jey, did you have to grind yours down a lot?
My name ain't Jey, but I did have to grind down about the same amount on my perches (Rubicon Express) to work on my 9".

I wish I had the funds/access to a hot tank! Looks good.

run that sucker through a round of sand or bead blasting.. that's rusting fast! I'd go sand over wire wheel... I know my blaster will take care of an axle like that much faster than a wire wheel ever could, especially when you get to the tight spots.

Eh, leave it be. The rust will give the paint something to stick to. :p

Rust adds character.

Ya, read the directions that came with the perches they tell ya what to grind down ;).

Directions?! I'll have to look into that! :D

Fill the gaps with the welder.. That way, it's less work to grind it down.

:D

I was thinking about tackin the perches on at the ends.. then just using like a... foam caulk or something.

section send me your front diff, cv's amd hubs

I got the leafs home finally. I can see why you were anxious to get rid of them. They take up a lot of room! :p But I am bound to find a combination that will work perfect. Thanks again Tom I really appreciate it.

It looks like I should be able to reuse the stock u-bolts, which is good because the one that goes through the cast part of the differential is slightly larger. I'll be picking up the material this week for my front and rear crossmembers/leaf mounts. I might even have them done and mounted before the weekend.

Here is where I am now.

That is definantly a stack of leaves, geez.

I'm anxious to see you fab work. Most of the time i'd rather see people fab work then their total project.

I know what you mean. I am doing this for 75% project, 25% outcome. :D It's all about the tweakin, wrenchin, learnin for me.

I cut the sway bar mounts off the spring plates and trimed it back a bit more and reused then as well as the waggy U bolts. I also reused the shock mounts on the waggy axle as well. Will this be going in before or after moab?

Before. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks.

Hopefully I'll get most of the other parts this week... or order what I have to.

They're going on as soon as the BL comes out. I already have the tubing for them.

sweet....so when do you plan to start to cut out the IFS?

youre generally not supposed to re-use U bolts...

I may find new ones then. I would have to chase the threads on these ones anyways.

I'm sure I can find a new set of stock waggy u bolts somewhere. :)
