yea i would say so. It was good to finally meet all of you guys had a blast learned alot too like dont let Pete bang on anything with a hammer lol. wish i could have gotten my parts on but hell we had enough to worry about tearing apart 2 trucks and then putting them back together. I wonder if Pete is back noodling for muskie yet lol

nope, not home yet, just getting the alignment at 3 pm, than maybe off in the morning early,

was a blast to meet all of you,,

I do hope Jon didn't have you take it to the crack head alignment place (I'm sure he didn't). I'm sure he told you the horror story about that place. If not just ask him.

got a chance to drive it to the alignment and back,, dorve back to Jons,, it worked fantastic,,,smooth easy steering,,and no pull, they guy at Fred's Treads in Chanute did a fantastic job,, he actually took almost 2 hours to get it the way he wanted it,,way above and beyond,,

so tomorow, i have just a few small things,, and i am off home after that,,,

Alright, here's the ones I took of the swap/install, and the reason why Pete's not allowed to use a hammer.

Those coilovers need more preload. When I installed those on my rig I gained another 1.5-2" of lift on top of the 4" Superlift kit. Your lower control arms should not be level they should be angled down to ahceive more lift. Also did you install the aluminum bushings/spacer that go between the upper shock mount and the stock shock tower?

Just my 2 cents... I noticed the same thing on Jons rig at CCR.

Here is how my springs looked when installed. I was worried they would bind up on compression but it never happened.

Chad,
The control arms are set to allow about 2" more of droop. They could be set higher, however going past half way on the shock is a bit un-nerving to me. Not only that, the arms would be at their droop limit.

Maybe a 800 lb 14" spring would be better, instead of 12"

I will say, to the center of the control arm bolts on my truck was a mere 10" where Pete's truck is sitting at 12.5" with the same pre-load. The rocker panel has about a 3/4" rake. I like how it sits, and rides.

:dunno:

The alignment guy liked it. The Camber adjusted right in.

OH edit
The posted pics are before final adjustment. The pics were to show how good we had eyeballed in the first setting. It was level.

I can see the confusion, Petes arms are angled a bit now.

I would say the shocks are pre loaded about 1/2" up from where Chad had them on his Sport trac.

Great pics. Makes me miss that place a lot.

At least the dreaded "Humboldt Curse" only seems to have inflicted a "mere flesh wound" this time. :D

Nice work boys.
