Got a little done today...painted the link bracket/tranny X-member that I finished last week but I need to paint the frame and finish building the upper links before I can mount it up. I also made some tabs to mount the upper links to the main links but I won't tack those in until I get the axle truss in place to get a measurement.

Here's some pics:

Last Thurs. was the last I worked on the truck and I got a track bar bracket tacked up but that's as far as I got since I had a garage sale and TDS to get ready for. I'll be back at it tomorrow though :D

I think he made the mistake of starting this, then kept changing his mind..

He's probably out looking for a jeep with a long arm kit on it, so he can duplicate it.

I kept him from working on it sunday. I went out to his house and picked up his tube bender to start on my bumpers and a cage :D Dave does have some interesting clearnce issues that I was looking at with him on the front end. It is turning out very nice though. Should be fun when its complete.

Now hurryup and order a front locker as well :D

No real progress lately, I re-worked the track bar bracket I had tacked up so that's ready for final welding.

Tom,
I did have my eye on a TJ unlimited with a RE long arm kit on it where I was working last week but then I thought nah, bolt on stuff is too easy :p

OH man those unlimiteds with long travel sitting on 37's look pretty unstoppable to me....they have been popping up all over town.

I just can't see, Buying a brand new truck, building it up, and then smashing up against rocks. I'm just not that rich sorry. :( I'll keep my used explorer ;)

Um yeah me neither :) I can hardly afford my 88 BII project :)

In my case, it probably would be cheaper to buy that new Unlimited and mod it then to have dumped all the money that I have into my rig

you are telling the wrong guy, I could be rollin an Escalade

Heh heh...on Rockwells w/ 49's....where does it end!

The track bar bracket i made for the axle turned out pretty good but since it lands in a different spot, the bracket i made at the frame end doesn't look like it'll work. The track bar is now pushed over about 2" from its previous location that I had mocked up so it's back to the grinder

I'll get a pic up tomorrow.

Here's the track bar bracket tacked and mocked up in the general area where it will be welded. I need to get a coilover in there to check my clearances.

thats nice if you have lots and lots of american dollars

Got to work on the truck today and started making the axle bridge for the upper links and looks like it may just work. The main part of the bridge is done but i'm going to make gussets wherever there is a bend.
As usual I worked until sundown so I didn't get a chance to snap a pic. I'm going to get some wheels and tires from a buddy of mine for free tomorrow :D so no work on the truck 'til next week. My buddy just got some 22's on his Tahoe so he has no need for the stockers that were on there. Good thing too the tires on my Chevy are going bald plus i'm running the spare since 2 plugs wouldn't do the job on the other tire that was on there

Well, I was looking at the axle bridge again when I had it mocked up and decided it's too tall as in it will hit the engine x-member if I stuff the axle up too far tall. So I'll start reworking it this week as I find time and take pics when it's finished ;)
